  6. Broke Millennial December 6, 2013 at 7:48 AM

I almost felt the need to clarify it’s a real gold coin and not a Bitcoin… But the value confirms it’s a physical gold coin!

    1. J. Money December 6, 2013 at 8:11 AM

HAH! You just made me go back and edit the post a little to clarify it’s solid gold and NOT a Bitcoin :) I wouldn’t have ever thought that but I bet others could, so thanks!

  7. Brian December 6, 2013 at 7:55 AM

I am a big fan of Apmex. I have use them before to get some ASEs. So I really like those there. They also have a pretty solid selection of classic (pre-1920) gold coins and a solid collection of Morgan Silver Dollars too, including the sweet Carson City ones.

  8. Andy December 6, 2013 at 8:15 AM

I bought a 1/4oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf off APMEX when gold was at it’s highest about 2 years ago (oops). I was nervous about it just being left at my front door while I was at work but it all worked out fine.

But lets be serious, what I really wanted was a Royal Canadian 1 kg gold bar. I’m not ashamed to admit that I would sleep with it.

  9. Fern Miller (@Fernwise) December 6, 2013 at 8:15 AM

I love the Canadian Silver Wildlife series. But, y’all KNOW I’m Pagan.

  10. Alicia @ Financial Diffraction December 6, 2013 at 8:16 AM

I kinda like the gold kangaroo pendant (mostly because I’ve never seen kangaroos make an appearance on gold jewellery before!

  87. L Ras December 6, 2013 at 12:29 PM

I vote for the palladium because I have zero knowledge of it– so here is something to learn. It has to be valuable to some persons somewhere. Industrial uses, currency, jewelry and/or design? I have so much to find out and the pursuit will just be my cup of tea – enhanced by the chance to win A GENUINE GOLD COIN! I am happy and I know it so I am clapping my hands.

  88. Pam December 6, 2013 at 12:32 PM

Gold American Eagle for me. One ounce of course.

  89. Drockafeller December 6, 2013 at 12:39 PM

Also, I liked them on Facebook!

  143. Mike December 8, 2013 at 10:29 AM

I like the $10 Gold Eagle MS-64 PCGS coin. It is beautiful!

  151. chas f December 8, 2013 at 6:51 PM

I like the Canadian silver maple leaf. A good buy because it has the high face value. The price of silver may never fall that low but if it did you don’t have that with a walking liberty.

  152. Dave December 8, 2013 at 8:23 PM

1 oz American Silver Eagle – would like more to add to my collection.

  153. Shawn December 9, 2013 at 8:37 AM

I would love the 1oz gold Canadian Maple Leaf.

  154. David S December 9, 2013 at 1:17 PM

  157. Daniel Byrd December 10, 2013 at 9:30 AM

  159. Steeb December 10, 2013 at 10:00 AM

On the day that we remember Nelson Mandela, the 2013 1 oz Gold South African Krugerrand jumped out at me. Although, speaking of jumping, the 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo looks like a great conversation starter to have around.

  160. Carl December 10, 2013 at 11:42 AM

    And following on Twitter.

  161. Stuart December 10, 2013 at 8:36 PM

I will be contrarian and go with the 2013 1oz us silver eagle coin. Silver runs in my family and it doesn’t get more classic than the eagle!

  162. Stuart December 10, 2013 at 8:37 PM

I followed them on twitter too! Looking forward to their tweets.

  163. Steve December 12, 2013 at 11:42 AM

I have always been a fan of the Krugerrand, and the American Silver Eagle. If I had my choice I would own a bunch of…..BOTH!

  164. Justin @ RootofGood December 12, 2013 at 10:17 PM

I’m in! 1 oz APMEX 2014 Eagle Eye Silver Round .999 Fine.

I used to buy American Eagle Silver dollars. Back when they were $6 each or so. Great stocking stuffers. That 1 oz APMEX Eagle is almost $21! Glad I sold all my silver at $30/oz and gold at $1500/oz. Although that stuff is awesome to hold in your hand. Especially the 1 oz coins. Very substantial.

  165. Ryan @ Impersonal Fiannce December 13, 2013 at 9:32 AM

1 oz Gold South African Krugerrand – that’s it for me. If it’s free and it’s gold, I’m in.
