Breaking News: I Got The Call!!!

Remember when I crashed into a parked minivan this week, and no one was calling me back while the fear of the unknown grew and grew and started consuming my every waking thought?

Well, we finally got the phone call :) And it couldn’t have gone any better:

“Hey, just wanted to let you know that the car is totally fine. You’re a sweetheart for leaving the note though – sorry it took me so long to call you back. I actually just saw it a few hours ago and wanted my husband to double check the car before I called you. So don’t worry about it – we’re good!”

Heart/Mind/Wallet relieved. The best outcome has come true, and now I can go rest my bones and NOT do any driving anytime soon… My caddy may still have that extra “character” on her going forward (no point in fixing it up when it’s been beat up pretty bad now), but it’ll be a nice reminder to *slow the F down* and be more careful in life… What a beautiful day!

Hallelujah! Double, in fact, for also getting someone honest enough not to try and get you for something that wasn’t bad at all. As you were. ;)

I know!! I was so lucky!!! I should always hit people who are nice! Haha…

Jumping jellybeans! What a relief :) You left the note as a good samaritan and karma did not punish you lol. What comes around goes around. Glad everything worked out in the end. I guess you can say you ran into a friendly couple :D by accident :P

Don’t you have car insurance? That’s what it’s for, when you accidentally ram into a parked car!! :)

    1. J. Money September 19, 2013 at 9:40 PM

Yeah, I have car insurance but was hoping not to use it. And more so that it wouldn’t come out to some ridiculous cost to fix the car and my premiums would go up by a lot :( But luckily I don’t have to worry anymore – woo!

I know!! The convo went pretty much exactly what I put up there – with maybe some “Really’s?? It’s okay?”””s scattered in there too, by me ;)

Glad to hear everything turned out well in the end. I was thinking it should be fine when you mentioned there wasn’t any noticeable damage. Most people don’t want to have to deal with the BS of going through an insurance company if they can avoid it.

HAH! You better not be trying to convince me to get one ;) I’m an SUV person all the way!

Whew! Dodge the bullet there. :) Seriously, unless it’s a brand new car, a little dent is just fine.

I gotta whip out the clear tape again and start covering all the broken pieces in my bumper!

  12. Pam September 20, 2013 at 5:12 PM

    Sigh of relief with you!

I got to make a similar call a few years ago. We were passing through Chicago when we got rear-ended in stop-and-go traffic on the interstate. Miraculously, the bumpers matched up exactly and there was no apparent damage. Still, we exchanged info and I said that I’d let him know once we had a chance to check things out. In the end, all was good and I made the call to a very nervous, but ultimately relieved gentleman.

Aww very cool! It’s one of the best calls to receive, so I’m sure it feels great doing the calling too! :)
