American Express Gold Card offering $250 @ signup!

American Express Gold CardAmEx is running a crazy promo right now for all who’s interested! I’m still rockin’ my USAA Rewards card but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted ;)

Change can be good, right? Like, say, if someone gives you $250 in gift cards or a FREE PLANE TICKET?! haha…check it:

American Express(R) Premier Rewards Gold Card

  • For a limited time – earn 25,000 Membership Rewards bonus points when you spend $1,000 in 3 months, redeemable toward one domestic coach-class ticket. Offer expires 04/27/2010.
  • Earn Membership Rewards points up to three times as fast: You can earn 3X points on airfare, 2X points on gas and groceries, and 1X points on everything else
  • Earn 15,000 bonus points when you spend $30,000 per calendar year. (are you big ballin’?)
  • No annual fee for your first year, a savings of $175

If you’re wondering how I came up with the $250 in gift cards, it’s another option you have in exchange for your 25,000 reward points – instead of the ticket :) But as always, ONLY SIGN UP if you are a) looking for a card, and b) can use these to your advantage! You’ve only got 5 days to do it.

If you’re interested, *sign up here*

Wow, looks like they changed the deal. When I signed up for this CC they gave out 50,000 points.

Ooooh you already have one? I’m REALLY really tempted to pick this up and give it a shot for a year (with the intention of canceling before year 2 if it sucks). Do you like it? Do you use it a lot?

The “normal deal” is at 10,000 points outside of this promo it looks like…every financial blog right now is pimping this so I guess it’s a big deal?
