#1. “Atomic Habits” by James Clear

atomic habits by james clear

This one just hit the stores last month and is perfect for those who love experimenting and really just changing bad habits into better ones. It comes from James Clear who we recently featured on the blog, and it’s full of excellent tips to help you live a more productive and overall FULFILLING life. Here’s more info below from Amazon – it’s probably my favorite book we’re giving out today:

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones — “No matter your goals, Atomic Habits offers a proven framework for improving–every day. James Clear, one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results.”

#2. “Company of One” by Paul Jarvis

company of one by paul jarvis

This one is so new it isn’t even out yet!! Got it from Paul himself who is close friends with our beloved Cait Flanders, and similar to James Clear he also comes from the online world –> pjrvs.com. The copy you’ll receive is an “advanced reading copy,” and it’s not available for purchase yet until January 2019, unless of course you open up your heart and donate $50 today :)

From Amazon:

Company of One: Why Staying Small Is the Next Big Thing for Business — “Company of One is a refreshingly new approach centered on staying small and avoiding growth, for any size business. Not as a freelancer who only gets paid on a per piece basis, and not as an entrepreneurial start-up that wants to scale as soon as possible, but as a small business that is deliberately committed to staying that way. By staying small, one can have freedom to pursue more meaningful pleasures in life, and avoid the headaches that result from dealing with employees, long meetings, or worrying about expansion. Company of One introduces this unique business strategy and explains how to make it work for you, including how to generate cash flow on an ongoing basis.”

#3. “How to Invest in Real Estate” by Joshua Dorkin and Brandon Turner

how to invest in real estate

This bad boy just launched on Halloween, but there isn’t anything scary about it (see what I did there??). It’s a new book out by the Bigger Pockets team – another great website! – and shares more than 40 real-life stories of people who are finding success in the real estate game. If you’ve always been curious about it, or even started dabbling yourself, this is a great new book to pick up:

How to Invest in Real Estate: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Getting Started — “Everyone knows real estate investing can be a powerful way to build wealth and achieve true financial freedom. But, because each person’s journey is different, knowing the first steps to take can be challenging. That’s why two of the biggest names in the real estate world teamed up to write the most comprehensive manual ever written on getting started in the lucrative business of real estate investing. Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner—longtime hosts of the world’s #1 real estate podcast, The BiggerPockets Podcast—give you an insider’s look at the many different niches and strategies that exist. Find which one works best for you, your resources, and your goals.”

#4. “RESET: How to Restart Your Life and Get F.U. Money” by David Sawyer

reset book by david sawyer

I haven’t read/skimmed this one yet, but it’s been getting a ton of praise from people like Jacob Lund Fisker (Early Retirement Extreme) and William Danko (Millionaire Next Door), so I’m feeling safe enough to recommend it to y’all today :) And from what I hear, it’s the first book to translate the teachings of FIRE here in the US over into UK context, so if you’re reading this from across the pond right now, this might be the book for you!

RESET: How to Restart Your Life and Get F.U. Money: The Unconventional Early Retirement Plan for Midlife Careerists Who Want to Be Happy — “Are you happy? Is there more to life than this? What if there is another way? What if that way doesn’t involve jacking in your job, leaving your partner, having a midlife crisis, uprooting your existence? What if that way just involves small actions, taken every day? With no more effort than you now spend tending your social media flock, superglued to a screen. Best of all, what if that way costs you little?”

#5. “Love Your Life, Not Theirs” by Rachel Cruze (Signed Copy)

love your life not theirs - book

Alright, so this one isn’t new-new (it came out in late 2016), but it’s new to me, and it’s also a brand new copy outside of her signature in it :) I REALLY REALLY liked her energy during her keynote talk at FinCon this year (much more *positive* than her cranky dad, Dave Ramsey!), and while I’ve only skimmed this book, I’m fairly certain her personality and tips are more relatable if you’re younger than, say, 50 ;)

Here’s more per Amazon:

Love Your Life Not Theirs: 7 Money Habits for Living the Life You Want — “In Love Your Life, Not Theirs, Rachel shows you how to buy and do the things that are important to you–the right way. That starts by choosing to quit the comparisons, reframing the way you think about money, and developing new habits like avoiding debt, living on a plan, watching your spending, saving for the future, having healthy conversations about money, and giving.”

#6. “Retire Inspired” by Chris Hogan (Signed Copy)

retire inspired by chris hogan

This one’s also not a new-new book (came out in 2016), but I received it at FinCon and thought one of you might get some enjoyment from it. He, too, did a keynote there, and pretty much sounds exactly like that Allstate Guy which means you should be in “good hands” here, haha…

Retire Inspired: It’s Not an Age, It’s a Financial Number — “Whether you’re twenty five and starting your first job or fifty five and watching the career clock start to wind down, today is the day to get serious about your retirement. In Retire Inspired, Chris Hogan teaches that retirement isn’t an age; it’s a financial number an amount you need to live the life in retirement that you’ve always dreamed of. With clear investing concepts and strategies, Chris will educate and empower you to make your own investing decisions, set reasonable expectations for your spouse and family, and build a dream team of experts to get you there.”

“Company of One” – I guess you have never sent a book to Latvia

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:30 AM

You’re right on that one, haha…

  2. Nicci November 14, 2018 at 5:58 AM

“RESET:How to Restart Your Life and Get F.U. Money” please. Very much on-board with FIRE and have started making my way there using US based resources but it would be lovely to have something focused on the UK to help me on my way.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:35 AM

Excellent! You’ll have to pick it up whether you win or not as I’m sure it’ll prove super helpful :)

  3. Merry Money November 14, 2018 at 6:03 AM

You’re too generous J! I saw Cruz speak at FinCon and she’s definitely as lively as it gets. Great speaker! I wouldn’t mind a signed “Love Your Life, Not Theirs” if no one else is interested.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:36 AM

I was super surprised by her, in a good way. She’ll be changing a lot of lives out there!

  4. Deirdre November 14, 2018 at 6:20 AM

You are awesome I would love retire inspired as j already gave Rachel’s book. But I love listening to Chris when he’s on the radio.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:37 AM

Oh cool – I didn’t know he had a radio show?

  5. Sarah Berryman November 14, 2018 at 6:22 AM

I would love the Rachel Cruz book, Love Your Life Not Theirs. I have taken her father, Dave Ramsey’s, course through college and I remember when she first started being a financial celebrity as well. While her father is very hard and heavy in his baby steps I’ve found Rachel is a softer approach to a frugal lifestyle for millennials like myself. I enjoy her YouTube channel a lot! Her focus is on a lifestyle that leads to the financial security that would prevent someone needing later advice from her dad. She is the preventing debt method while her father is the fixing debt and I would love love to read from her words.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 7:02 AM

Ahhhh love that way of looking at it! What a combo!!

  6. J.D. November 14, 2018 at 7:28 AM

I really enjoy your blog! Right now I am chomping at the bit to buy a rental to get into renting real estate but am a relative neophyte. How to invest in real estate would be a big help. Thanks!

  7. Mary November 14, 2018 at 7:32 AM

Dreaming of real estate investing, so this resource might be helpful.

  8. Rachel Owusu-Ansah November 14, 2018 at 7:37 AM

I would like the copy of “atomic habits” cause I’m 21 and realizing my bad habits are stopping me from living my best life :( lol

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 7:46 AM

Oh man, if you can get on track with your habits now that young you are going to be sooooo well off later on!! You can do it! I have faith in you!! :)

  9. rukhsar November 14, 2018 at 7:37 AM

I really do wish to win this amazing giveaway ❤️❤️❤️❤️ hope to win 1 book from you❤️ will be very grateful

  10. Bonnie B November 14, 2018 at 7:40 AM

Thanks for doing another giveaway! Please throw my name in for Atomic Habits!

  11. Bryan November 14, 2018 at 7:42 AM

    J,
You can toss my name in the hat for “Reset” sir. Why? The title speaks to me and it is recommended by that beast of a legend Jacob whose own book is FINALLY in today at the library. I’ve been on the waiting list for one year for ERE. Interestingly, it’s also been one year for me of tracking net worth, expenses, income, and every other penny that enters or leaves my life. What an enlightening and empowering journey. In any case, I’m going to dig out my old college physics, calculus, and statistics books this weekend as I’m sure I’ll need them as reference while reading Jacob’s book ;-)
    B.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 7:48 AM

Hahaha that is awesome man – guess he’s a popular dude where you live! ;)

I think you should buy up 5-6 copies when you hit FIRE and then donate them to the library so others can get ’em faster later ;)

  12. Suz November 14, 2018 at 7:46 AM

I would love to get the copy of Atomic Habits. I’m typically very good at goal-setting and reaching them, but I realized recently that I need some help forming some new habits to help me achieve other things I’m going after.

  13. Jack November 14, 2018 at 7:48 AM

I would love Atomic Habits by James Clear! This one is already on my list and calls to my “hack your lifestyle” tendencies and approach. Waiting for it to be available at the library if I can’t snag a copy here!

  14. Heather Q. November 14, 2018 at 7:49 AM

Love your life… I’ve been wanting to buy it and add to the feeling of empowerment regarding my finances. There’s no perfect model. Everyone needs to find what works for them. Thank you!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 7:51 AM

      Amen to that!

Make sure to pick it up at the library if you don’t win too!

  15. Larry November 14, 2018 at 7:49 AM

I would love a chance to win “Atomic Habits”. My wife has been complaining that all I ever read are finance books, so this gives me the chance to branch out a little.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 7:50 AM

      Haha, good call ;)

  16. Ashley Shearer November 14, 2018 at 7:52 AM

Would LOVE to read Company of One! I am hoping to start my own small business and have thought about this in the past. “Why does everyone need to grow so much? A lot of small businesses are so successful but owners wear themselves out!” I would love to read Paul’s take on it to reassure me I CAN own a small business and not lose my mind! :) Very interested in these different/disruptive ideas!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:43 AM

I think you’ll definitely enjoy it then for sure :)

  17. Erin S. November 14, 2018 at 7:58 AM

I’d love the Bigger Pockets book because my husband & I have been talking about diversifying into real estate & really don’t know where to start.

  18. Jacob Jones November 14, 2018 at 8:07 AM

I am interested in Atomic Habits. A fellow blogger just recommended it to me. I also think you have seen my flexibility and willingness to change for the better on twitter as I start to get up at 4:30-5:00am in order to get my hustle on.

No matter your choice, you are awesome!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:44 AM

Yeah man – those early starts are pretty powerful!

  19. Jennifer November 14, 2018 at 8:14 AM

Would love the Atomic Habits book!

  20. Rachel Searson November 14, 2018 at 8:15 AM

“RESET: How to Restart Your Life and Get F.U. Money” We are making changes in how we approach our careers and life — I think this would be a great resource to help us do that.

  21. Dan -bigoxlittlebird November 14, 2018 at 8:17 AM

The James Clear book – Atomic Habit!!!

My wife and I have just read the miracle morning by Hal Elrod – amazing book. One of the great quotes in there talks about how we really are the sum of all our habits. That really hit home for us and we are trying to change our habits for the better and thus be a better person. This would be the perfect next read for us!
Thank you for doing these giveaways. Also thank you for retweeting my jlcollins quote. I think you broke my twitter bwhaha.
    -BigOx

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:45 AM

Haha – that was an excellent excerpt! And agree 100% on The Miracle Morning :)

  22. Brenda November 14, 2018 at 8:18 AM

Atomic Habits looks like a winner!

  23. Mary Ann November 14, 2018 at 8:19 AM

I would love a copy of Atomic Habits. It has had good reviews.

  24. Paul November 14, 2018 at 8:19 AM

Why’s your thumb nail always painted black? Channeling your inner Carson Daily back in the TRL Days???

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:47 AM

Haha… gotta spice it up every now and then ;) Makes me feel 20 years younger.

  25. Jill Flinton November 14, 2018 at 8:21 AM

Company of One! I am intentionally planning on keeping my business small so I can provide personalized service to my clients.

  26. Lisa November 14, 2018 at 8:23 AM

I would love the copy of “Love your life, not their’s” – I also love the fact that you spread the love with the rest of us. And the black polish? . . . Left over from Halloween?

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:48 AM

More like just pretending I’m a rock star ;)

  27. Alex Hogeveen November 14, 2018 at 8:24 AM

Hey J! Can you put me in for Company of one?
I think this book will be very helpful for me as I am currently looking to start up a business to work for myself on a small scale to be able to set my own schedule.

  28. Brad November 14, 2018 at 8:26 AM

Hey J. Money, thanks for doing the giveaway!

Would love “How to Invest in Real Estate”…my wife & I have talked about getting started in that space for some time now, this might be able to push us over the edge!

    Thanks!
    Brad

  29. Joe November 14, 2018 at 8:27 AM

Mark me down for Retire Inspired. It’s the next step for this “over 50” person. ;-) And thank you for doing the giveaway.

  30. Beth November 14, 2018 at 8:36 AM

Rachel Cruze – Live your Life not Theirs

I’ve been wanting this book for a few years now and keep an eye out at thrift stores or book store sales for it and have not found it yet. The Ramsey family is helping my husband and I get out of debt with their debt plan and I think if we read this it will give us an extra push. Especially since we are getting out of debt and our friends are galavanting around different countries and putting themselves into more debt. I think it would be a good refreshing start for the holidays time when we falter back to “well I want it too” and it would help keep us focused on the debt plan! Thanks for your awesome posts to read!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 9:49 AM

Amen! Check your local library too in the meantime and see if you can find it! Though long-term I agree owning a copy could come in handy many moons over :)

  31. Olivia November 14, 2018 at 8:49 AM

Great giveaway! I’d LOVE a copy of Atomic Habits. This has been popping up a lot on my radar, and I’m trying to implement a few things I’ve heard James Clear talk about in interviews. It would be great to dive more deeply into the book and really make some changes.

  32. Steve November 14, 2018 at 8:52 AM

Would love “How to Invest in Real Estate”.
Was involved previously when we didn’t sell our townhouse and moved to single family house. A few years later sold the townhouse and put in a new deck and hot tub with the profits. Would like to get back in market.

  33. Ashley November 14, 2018 at 8:56 AM

Oooohhhh!! Rachel Cruze! I’d love a copy of that book — tried to check it out at the library and I’ve been on the wait list for. ev. er. :))

  34. Edita November 14, 2018 at 9:02 AM

Thank you for having this giveaway. Me and my local community (public library readers) could absolutely benefit from any of these books. I really want to start teaching/ introducing personal finance/ financial independence series at the library. It has been on my mind for a few years now.
I would like all of them :-) but if I really have to pick only one… Atomic Habits is what I would like to get because the biggest change starts from atomic consistent effort.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 10:03 AM

Ahhh I hope you do it!! Your community would be so blessed to have someone helping and encouraging them along their journey!!! Make it happen!! :)

  35. Jessica November 14, 2018 at 9:07 AM

I would really like to read “Company of One”. Both my husband and I have a small business each (in addition to our day jobs), and we spend probably too much time thinking about growing and logistics. I’m hoping this book would tell us its okay to enjoy success on a small scale while still managing to keep our sanity :)

  36. Kathy November 14, 2018 at 9:16 AM

Would love to read Reset:Restart Your Life. We are looking into moving out-of-state, and basically having a “restart,” but feel that our finances are not quite where they should be for such a venture. This one sounds perfect for us!

  37. Shar B November 14, 2018 at 9:21 AM

Would love Atomic Habits! Can always use more tips to lead a more productive life!

  38. Yanira Del Valle November 14, 2018 at 9:28 AM

Morning! “Love your life not theirs”, I need a dose of that. The other day I found myself contemplating the fact that lately I’ve made some choices, and in the back of my mind I was actually worrying about what others may think. At my age I thought I was immune to the Joneses effect, but I guess not.

  39. Phil November 14, 2018 at 9:29 AM

Atomic Habits – I just listened to Rich Roll’s podcast interview with James Clear and I now really want to read this book.

  40. Rich November 14, 2018 at 9:30 AM

Atomic Habits, definitely. I’m a creature of habit and have long known that if i can get a pattern established re: behavior, it’s much easier to maintain. The trick is getting that pattern established (or disrupted).

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 10:05 AM

      Yep! That’s the trick!

  41. Phil November 14, 2018 at 9:32 AM

I don’t want any of your books, I’ll leave them to someone else. I just wanted to say you are awesome to want to share the wealth! Great initiative! Keep it up J Money.
    Phil from Canada

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 10:17 AM

Hey, thanks man! Appreciate you stopping by and saying so!

  42. Will November 14, 2018 at 9:38 AM

I would love to enter for a chance at Retire Inspired. Chris Hogan has a new book coming out in January that per Dave Ramsey “is the largest study on millionaires ever completed.” Would love to read the prequel (if you will)!

  43. Lori November 14, 2018 at 9:40 AM

Company of One! I working towards making the leap from my day job to my side hustles as full time work. It is scary thinking that the things I enjoy doing that can make some money may not be enough and my ideas are not scalable…it would be nice to understand how to keep something small and be able to fulfill my family’s needs. More flexibility with work and life would be amazing, which is one of the main drivers for me wanting to ditch the day job.

  44. Winnie November 14, 2018 at 9:48 AM

Definitely Company of One! That is exactly how I want to run my (future) calligraphy business, and it would be amazing to have a plan for it long-term before I even launch.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 10:06 AM

Calligraphy! You don’t hear of that too often anymore! Lost art, which hopefully you’ll help bring back!! :)

  45. Yaacov Rothman November 14, 2018 at 9:54 AM

Please pick me for Rachel Cruze book! (Pretty please)

Just for getting an inside glimpse into the mind of someone raised by Dave Ramsey :)

  46. CrazyMomMcGee November 14, 2018 at 10:04 AM

J, I would love Rachel Cruze’s book! Every once in a while, I suffer from keeping up with the Jones and a serious case of FOMO, which, of course, sets me back from reaching my goals. I’d occasionally welcome a healthy kick in the butt, and I think reading and revisiting this book would help so very much.

  47. Marcia C. November 14, 2018 at 10:05 AM

I would love any of them!
But if I had to choose, Love Your Life, Not Theirs.. I took a Dave Ramsey class about 10 years ago, and it really made a difference in my life. I’d like to read what she has to say, too.

  48. Lynn W November 14, 2018 at 10:07 AM

I would love Retire Inspired. It’s actually already on my Christmas wish list. My husband and I were stupidly late starting in retirement planning. We need all the help we can get!

  49. Tim November 14, 2018 at 10:11 AM

Would love Retire Inspired! I want to retire early, and that book may help me get there!

  50. Brandi Baysinger November 14, 2018 at 10:11 AM

Reset – I really need to get on track and get saving for retirement. I may not retire “early” up I do want to have the great life during those retirement years!

  51. Jim P November 14, 2018 at 10:11 AM

Company of One sounds interesting. You can include me for that! Thanks for the giveaway!

  52. Yaz November 14, 2018 at 10:12 AM

Hi J Money. I would like Love Your Life, Not Theirs. I could really use that book right now. I hope to be the lucky winner. Thanks for the opportunity!

  53. Katerina November 14, 2018 at 10:15 AM

I would love the Love Your Life Book! I’m just about to be out of law school and building up my financial start. I want to start out on the right foot!!

  54. Juan Mitchell November 14, 2018 at 10:17 AM

Hey J, thanks for the chance at one of the books.

I would LOVE to read the RESET book, on how to RESET my life, man could I use a PUSH!!

Also, I an interested in Retire INSPIRED.
I started investing late in life after a little turmoil, well, I guess you can say it was a hardship.
I had to start from ZERO, just FOUR years ago, and man it seems almost impossible, but I am doing everything I can to get back on track.

Once again, thanks for the opportunity.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 12:58 PM

Good – keep going!! That first phase is always the worst, but gets better from there!

  55. Jeff S November 14, 2018 at 10:21 AM

The “Love Your Life Not Theirs” would be perfect for my two children. My oldest just started her first job out of college and my son is in college. I would love for them to start their adult lives out with the right frame of mind so as to avoid a lot of the STUPID mistakes I made over the past 30 years.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 12:59 PM

I think you should make a list of all these stupid mistakes and then show it to them and scare them while they’re nice and young ;)

  56. Amy November 14, 2018 at 10:23 AM

I would love “Atomic Habits.” I have been doing a lot of work lately on creating good habits, and that sounds like a great one to keep going in the right direction. Thanks for doing this!

  57. Lee Stuart November 14, 2018 at 10:28 AM

I would love the Chris Hogan or the Rachel Cruze book, either one. I’ve been meaning to read them both, just haven’t made it to them yet because the site you used to own has such a good book list. I enjoy Chris’ podcast and Rachel’s Youtube channel and listen and watch them a lot.

  58. Danny November 14, 2018 at 10:29 AM

Thanks so much for this giveaway! Would love Retired Inspired, if possible :). The more I listen Chris, the more I think he’s in favor of retiring early, compared to Dave Ramsey. Would really be curious to read his methodology.

  59. Jon Williams November 14, 2018 at 10:33 AM

Atomic Habit! Because I have so many bad habits that need changing! Haha!

  60. Jennifer Heinze November 14, 2018 at 10:37 AM

Hi there! I’d love to get Rachel Cruze’s book for my daughters — trying to train them up right! (They already get your emails every day, and quote things back to me from your writing! :)
They have just started watching Rachel’s videos.)

If that’ book is gone, I’d love to have for myself “Company of One” because I think that philosophy is where I’m at.
Cheers to you, and thanks for the giveaways! :)

      Ahhhh so cool!!!

I hope they’re skipping all of my curse words when repeating back! Haha…

  61. jodi renaud November 14, 2018 at 10:42 AM

I would love that book atomic habits. I have so many bad habits that need to be broken. I eat too much, I spend too much…maybe this book would help me.

  62. Don Tillery November 14, 2018 at 10:45 AM

Hey J Money, I would love to receive the Love Your Life, Not Thiers by Rachel Cruz. I have been working with my 26 year old daughter on budgeting for the last few months and her biggest struggle is wanting the things other people have. I also never got a chance to congratulate you on your latest addition to your family….

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 1:01 PM

Thanks man – he just turned 6 months last week, pretty crazy how fast it all goes!

  63. Debra Driscoll November 14, 2018 at 10:51 AM

I have a food addiction, and follow the bright line eating plan. The director of the plan recommends atomic habits highly, and I have placed a hold on it in the library but there are about 15 people who will get it ahead of me! Can you help me speed up my recovery?

  64. Glasa November 14, 2018 at 10:52 AM

Company of One – I currently do freelance work, and have a desire to build it into a small company. I have friends and others who are all about scaling, but I think there is tons a value in staying smaller. I would love to read this book to get more insight about smaller sized organizations, and keeping the culture organic and thriving.

  65. Laurie@ThreeYear November 14, 2018 at 10:59 AM

I’d love Atomic Habits and I’ll definitely pass it on. I’m such a huge fan of habits, and even have a Habit Series on my blog where I undertook a new habit each month last year. I think this book could really help my thinking and progress. Thanks for doing this J!

  66. Erin November 14, 2018 at 11:07 AM

I’ve loved Company of One! I’ve been a company of one since 2014 and I’d love to get some tips from someone who has had a ton of success working solo.

  67. BOBBI-SUE November 14, 2018 at 11:08 AM

Atomic Habits!! I am the WORST at breaking bad ones / starting new ones.

  68. DJStickyWicket November 14, 2018 at 11:08 AM

J$- definitely interested in Brandon Turner’s book. I have been studying them over at biggerpockets and am currently studying to get my real estate license. We are in the beginning stages of building our first spec house and are closing on a rental property. I’m always looking for more wisdom from the experts!

    Happy Budgeting!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 1:03 PM

Heyy, good for you! That’s all exciting stuff!

  69. Bethany November 14, 2018 at 11:11 AM

I’d love to read How to Invest in Real Estate!

  70. Amy @ LifeZemplified November 14, 2018 at 11:26 AM

Retire Inspired for me…cause “good hands”…and I want to share it with so many others!

  71. Elora Lee November 14, 2018 at 11:46 AM

“Company of One” please. I’m transitioning to self-employment and would love to get some more inspiration :)

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 1:03 PM

Rock on! Welcome to the dark side! :)

  72. Angie Pannkuk November 14, 2018 at 11:58 AM

    Hi J

I would love the real estate book. In the future, I want to own several properties/homes. However, I don’t know where to begin.

    Thanks.

  73. Andrea November 14, 2018 at 12:01 PM

I definitely need to read Atomic Habits. I have bad habits I need to break and some good habits I need to start. It’s hard, though!

  74. Katherine Streetman November 14, 2018 at 12:09 PM

RACHEL CRUZE is a breath of fresh air! I would love to read her book. I am a thirty year old mom, working a new full time job over an hour away each day, trying to get by and stop comparing myself to others. Life gets hard but I’m sure I could learn a lot from Dave’s daughter.

  75. Lisa November 14, 2018 at 12:20 PM

We need Retire Inspired! We are those 50-somethings wanting to be prepared financially, mentally, physically, etc. for retirement and will benefit from Chris’s suggestions. I constantly dejunk my house, so once we read it, it will go to a new owner. Thanks!

  76. Zac November 14, 2018 at 12:27 PM

I would love to read James Clear’s Atomic Habits. As a current college student trying to set a good financial foundation for the future, I would be highly interested in seeing what Mr. Clear has to offer on how to build good habits and I believe right now is the time in my life that would be most beneficial to build them.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 1:05 PM

College student – wow! So young!!! Good job being on these $$$ blogs – you’re gonna be so well off as you go!!

  77. Stevo November 14, 2018 at 12:34 PM

I’d love ‘How to Invest in Real Estate’! I literally got an email from my wife this morning saying “we should start getting some rental properties….”
She’s finally joined me on the FIRE train (I think maternity leave with our newborn earlier this year made her see the light). She’s telling her boss today that she doesn’t really want to work her crazy hours/stressful CPA job anymore in order to spend more time at home with our baby (she’s going to try something part-time, work from home, hourly instead of salary). On paper, we can squeeze by paycheck-to-paycheck with my job, but recently we’re thinking that maybe we should be looking into rentals as a long term goal to help us hit FIRE. I guarantee the book will be put to good use!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 1:08 PM

Very nice timing indeed! Amazing how kids can change your entire outlook/lifestyle too. I’ve def, been shying away from working so much ever since having ours :)

  78. Donna Thompson November 14, 2018 at 12:43 PM

Hi Jay! I would love to win the book, “Atomic Habits.” I’ve been trying to replace some of my self defeating habits with more constructive ones and have difficulty in making the switch. Maybe this book can help me. Thanks, Donna

  79. Audrey November 14, 2018 at 12:54 PM

#3. “How to Invest in Real Estate” by Joshua Dorkin and Brandon Turner

Because I’d like to invest in real estate in the next few years (hopefully by then I have more money saved and houses won’t be as pricey), so it would be great to educate myself in that timeframe! Plus, I’ve been good and trying not to buy books anymore, but borrow online versions from the library, and this one is not available! :)

  80. Connie Kriebel November 14, 2018 at 12:59 PM

I would love to get the :Love your Life not theirs by Rachel Cruz.

I am a single mom with a 17 year old senior who I would love to have better money habits then me. I have the Dave Ramsey and some of the items just don’t gel with my girl, thought this would be a better fit for her as we ramp up for her to be out on her own.

  81. Becky November 14, 2018 at 1:26 PM

“Love your Life.” I have taken Dave Ramsey’s financial peace course and have listened to his radio show a little bit and you’re right. He comes of as cranky. I would be interested in reading this book to hear a better perspective on money with a similar game-plan. (I’m a fan of the Dave Ramsey plan, it’s just that Dave himself comes off like he’s yelling at you and calling you stupid)

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:02 PM

Okay good, glad I’m not the only one ;)

  82. Jon Krombein November 14, 2018 at 1:27 PM

I’d love Atomic Life or How to Invest in Real Estate.

I’m currently working trying to create new personal and financial systems in my life so that I can start saving up for an investment property.

  83. Julie November 14, 2018 at 1:47 PM

Atomic Habits! Heard wonderful things about it, and it is on my list of books to get already! As a new business owner I think it will be great advice to follow! Adding all the others tho in my list, they sound pretty great!

  84. Wendy November 14, 2018 at 1:56 PM

These all look so awesome I don’t know how to choose!!!!

    Company of One.

I’ll just have to haul my budget-conscious, sexy self off to the library for the other ones.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:03 PM

      yeah you will (ow ow!)

  85. Sheila Smith November 14, 2018 at 2:15 PM

Atomic Habits is on my list of books i want to read. I recently stumbled upon him (thanks to your blog) and i love his message. I promise to pass it along too. Thanks for being a bright light in the financial blog world.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:04 PM

      Trying!! :)

  86. Laura Gariepy November 14, 2018 at 2:56 PM

Hey J. Would love Company of One. I just started my business and this would be a great read. I don’t plan on hiring people as I grow (save a contractor here or there) so it would be interesting to see how the author did it. Thanks!

  87. Ariana White November 14, 2018 at 2:57 PM

I’m interested in “Company of One” because I’ve been running my own side business, pretty successfully, for 9 years now and I’d like to see what it has to say about expanding, or just making my own business more effective and efficient. Thanks for the giveaway!

  88. Jackie Rubin November 14, 2018 at 3:22 PM

Hi there J – I would love to check out the Atomic Habits book – mostly because I’m in a mental rut these days and just feel like every day is the same (me/hubs = work, kids = school, eat, sleep, repeat). I think I’m falling into the sedentary trap for my spare time – laundry, watching TV, scrolling Face-Book, etc. I think I really need a kick in the pants to optimize my habits so I make better use of my time – both at work and at home.

Runners up on my wish-list would include Love Your Life, and Retire Inspired.

Thank you for the opportunity – and I would definitely pass them along when finished.
Have a great day – Jackie

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:05 PM

I don’t think you’re alone in the daily rut stuff ;) Sometimes you just need a good push or light bulb to go off! Which you’re right, this book would provide.

  89. Justin November 14, 2018 at 3:59 PM

Hi J- I’d like Atomic Habits. I want to pick up some pointers on being more productive by eliminating some bad habits! I love your early morning scheduled you have posted about, but I can’t get myself to get up earlier and maybe the book will have some tips for me on that and other things!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:07 PM

Haha yeah – it def. takes a while to get used to :) Luckily there’s all kinds of other great habits in life you can still incorporate!

  90. April November 14, 2018 at 4:20 PM

“How to Invest in Real Estate”!!

Why – because I’ve been thinking more and more about finally expanding my portfolio to real estate. When I saw this book pop up in your giveaway article, I knew it was a sign!

  91. Ben November 14, 2018 at 4:38 PM

    I wouldn’t mind reading either #4 or #5

#4 because I habitually struggle with that I call mini-mid life crises; might be a refreshing read

#5 because I didn’t even know Dave Ramsey had a daughter, am not a huge fan of his, and your description paints her as a refreshing break from his style…and I always prefer reading advice books written by folk closer to my own age.

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:08 PM

She was definitely a nice surprise! I’ll put you down for that one.

  92. Sarah J Farber November 14, 2018 at 4:47 PM

I think I’d like RESET, although I’d gladly read any of them.

  93. Stacey Ewasko November 14, 2018 at 4:49 PM

I would love Rachel Cruze’s book! I recently moved to a new city and started a new job where all of my coworkers’ life styles, appearance (read: $$$ nails, hair, clothes, shoes) and presumably financial life is really different from mine, and I can use all the help I can get to stay true to myself and have the life and finances that I want… not what everyone else wants!

  94. Hillary Gras November 14, 2018 at 5:11 PM

Love your life not theirs!! Need this one in a world where comparison is the thief of joy

  95. Maggie November 14, 2018 at 5:53 PM

Oh man – It’s hard to choose. I’ll have to say “Atomic Habits”. I currently have a business idea, but I need a good kick to get me started! I hope this book will give me some good tips to change my bad habits and help motivate myself!

    1. J. Money November 14, 2018 at 6:15 PM

Another good way to get motivated is to tell everyone you know about the idea and see how excited they get :) The more you put it out there usually the more odds of going after it! (Unless everyone thinks it’s stupid, in which case you can chalk it up to a good field test haha… “My friend has this idea… what do you think of it?” ;))

  96. Kris November 14, 2018 at 6:40 PM

I would like to get a copy of ‘RESET: How to Restart Your Life and Get F.U. Money’ since I’m at a point where I like my job but I feel there is more out there for me and would like to read something that I get inspired to get out there and make a change.
The runner up books I would like are “Atomic Habits” since I’ve feel that I would like to change my habits especially ones that will be productive. The other is “Company of One” since I would like to find ways to improve my blog and possibly make it into a business.
Even if I don’t get my hands on any of these books, I appreciate you for doing this and make aware of these books J!

  97. Michael Davi November 14, 2018 at 7:12 PM

Reset – it’s time for a needed change in my life

  98. Rick November 14, 2018 at 10:05 PM

I would love to get “Reset”! I wanted to read it and I am in the mode of changing my life for the better now. Thanks for this blog brother!

  99. Kim Vlk November 14, 2018 at 10:18 PM

Atomic habits Sounds like a book I need. Ever since I moved to DC 2 years ago my procrastination has gotten worse and I can talk myself out of working out everyday. This book could help me break those habits.
    Love the blog!!!!

    1. J. Money November 15, 2018 at 6:50 AM

Thanks Kim! Love that you’re in the same area as me too! :)

  100. Tina Davis November 14, 2018 at 10:35 PM

Rachel Cruze – support women when I can ⭐️.

    1. J. Money November 15, 2018 at 6:51 AM

      *thumbs up*

  101. Greg Davis November 15, 2018 at 12:12 AM

I would request “Retire Inspired” by Paul Hogan as I’m about to retire in May 2020 & I’m currently a bit “uninspired”! Love your site!

    1. J. Money November 15, 2018 at 6:51 AM

Thanks man! Congrats on the upcoming retirement!!

  102. Working Mom November 15, 2018 at 12:29 AM

I would love to win Atomic Habits because I need to stop eating Halloween candy, start going to bed earlier, and need to form better habits at work to stay focused and efficient. Lots of habits in need of Atomicizing.

  103. Danielle Ogilvie November 15, 2018 at 1:01 AM

Thank you for the recommendations! Can’t wait to read them!

  104. Bryan November 15, 2018 at 5:34 AM

Interesting…a Giveaway post garnered 10 times the comments of the last post and nearly double the comments of the monthly Net Worth post. There is a social behavior study to be done there.

    1. J. Money November 15, 2018 at 6:53 AM

Haha yeah… Free stuff > free words ;)

  105. Carolyn November 15, 2018 at 8:17 AM

Put my name in the hat for Atomic Habits please. Ironically I am fairly regimented with automatic payments for household bills, investments, etc but it is the more subtle habits like regular eating, exercising and other things that are kicking my butt . Guidance and suggestions would be appreciated. Gratefully, Carolyn

  106. Eric @ Flip n Finances November 15, 2018 at 12:42 PM

Tis the season :) Sign me up for “How to Invest in Real Estate” please!

  107. Kate November 15, 2018 at 12:53 PM

I’d like “Love Your Life Not Theirs” – because I’m younger than, say, 50. Haha. Many of them look interesting though.

  108. chiefbp November 15, 2018 at 12:56 PM

Retire Inspired! Heard about this one a while back and looking forward to reading Chris.

  109. Edgarpickle November 15, 2018 at 2:07 PM

I’d love to have a copy of Atomic Habits, but for a different reason than many others around here. My wife has bipolar disorder and has spent much of her adult life trying to figure out ways to contain the highs and lows that come with it. We have found that the routines we establish can help keep her calm and, as I like to say, between the lines. Recently we’ve both been working on how to take our lives to a different level of productive while still maintaining the order and routine that’s necessary for her to function. I think Atomic Habits would be just the thing to do that.

    1. J. Money November 15, 2018 at 5:32 PM

Oh man, yeah – y’all need to pick up a copy of this for sure then. You’ll have to let James Clear know too if it changes anything as I’m sure he’d love to know!

Got you entered for it now though – good luck! Pick it up at the library or amazon or somewhere if you don’t win!

  110. shecansayit November 15, 2018 at 3:09 PM

    “Love Your Life, Not Theirs”

Because I feel like I am stuck in a wormhole of I sould do this and that because taht is expected of me.
And I would like to move to the mindset that I sould to things taht make me happy.

  111. Red November 15, 2018 at 3:11 PM
