The ol’ “Picture in The Wallet” Trick

I don’t know who made this, but they’re my favorite person of the month:

Haha… So ridiculous and genius at the same time! :)

And it probably WORKS!!

Because it gets you to STOP and think for a second before whipping out that card and spending away out of habit vs intention.

Others might prefer pictures of beaches or dream homes/careers to remind them to keep *saving* for what they truly want, but whatever you use it’s a nice speed bump to help slow you down a bit as you careen down Splurge Avenue…

Here’s another route you can go from my twitter friend @LeroyKincaid:

proverbs 22:7

Proverbs 22:7 – “The Borrower is slave to the lender”

All physical triggers to keep you on the right path.

And I’m sure many of you implement something similar too…

Doesn’t always have to require something big or fancy to keep you on track, but you DO need *something* to help hold you more accountable. Whether it’s a pic or an app or a friend (I can be your accountability partner!), whatever. The more conscious you are with your money, the better.

Haha, I really like these. I have a picture of my “other half” in my wallet and it definitely triggers me to not spend too much, because I know that she would spend it better and wiser :-)
