Girl Selling Virginity for Millions of Dollars.

A little over 3 years ago I blogged about girls selling their virginity for money. (Why do we never hear about guys doing this, btw? ;)) It was one of my more popular and juicier posts back then, and to this day still gets some decent traffic. Which makes it no surprise when I wake up this morning and see this email sitting in my inbox:

Hi,

My name is [Virgin], I am newly 18 years-old. I have a story for you, it’s my personal story. I am selling my virginity in order to better my life and help many who are in need as well, you could be the first to break the news. Please contact me if you have any questions, I’ll link my website below. PLEASE, take the time to read my “ABOUT ME” section on my webpage to find out more.

Thanks so much,
Virgin

Now normally I’d link to the site and so you all can review and gawk at, but something tells me it would generate way more hate than the opposite ;) And since this dear young lady was trying to do me a favor to break the news here first, I don’t want to be the one who screws her. No pun intended.

I do, however, have no problem sharing my thoughts on it all and then opening it up for your feedback. After all, anything having to do with money AND sex is the best type of stuff! Haha… (Have I ever told you how much I love my job? :))

So, my thoughts:

  • No way in hell would I ever do this. A) Just cuz it feels icky to me, B) ‘cuz I don’t morally approve, and C) I’ve already lost mine!
  • That being said, I try my best not to judge and condemn anyone for choosing differently even if I don’t agree (which I don’t, obviously). It’s incredibly fascinating either way.
  • If this one above IS telling the truth, I do respect the fact that she’d be using a lot of the money to help her family and community since her about page pretty much says they grew up in poverty and have all kinds of health-related and living-related problems. Not to mention a lack of education options as well (which she’d also be using the money for – especially with herself)
  • Putting your name and PICTURES on the internet for everyone to see just scares the bejesus out of me – especially when they’re half-naked pics!! (Again, sorry I can’t link back here ;)). Tying it all to SELLING YOUR VIRGINITY makes it even crazier, especially if the deed never even gets done. How does that affect your future being *that girl* forever and ever and EVER? With jobs, relationships, etc?? Not something you generally want to be at the top of search engines, believe me. Nor is it easy to get rid of once it’s out there.
  • Selling for a multiple of millions is way too high if we’re talking strictly business here. I can understand 1 Million, I guess, maybe two if you’re trying to reach the elite billionaires up there, but really anything more just seems overreaching. Especially when people can get it for free, yeah?
  • How will people trust you 100% that the facts are, well, the facts anyways?
  • And more importantly, how can you secure your SAFETY in going through with this? Both physically and mentally? Yikes…

My brain is going a mile a minute here, but that’s the gist of my feelings towards it. I should go back and see what I wrote all those years ago and see if my opinions still match up, haha… I didn’t want to do that yet so this post will (hopefully) be more original for you :)

Anyways, tons of variables when you’re considering something so big and drastic like this. If you guys ever go down this route just promise me you’ll think it through entirely, okay? ;) I’m semi-joking here, but odds are there are a handful of you reading this right now that WOULD do something like this. And I’d actually love to hear from you if you’re one of them!

So, would YOU sell your virginity for money? If we’re talking in the MILLIONS? What if you could go back and sell yours? Haha… Let us know in the comments below :) And please go anonymously. Happy sexing!

PS: That sex light up there? Goes for $15.99 on Amazon fwiw ;)

Oh wow… I wanted to write “you know, I would lose my virginity sooner or later so what’s the difference if I’d do that for free or for millions that would make the rest of my life much easier” but… I’m joking. But seriously, I have never ever been in situation that would even make me think and ask myself “what if…”! My first thought is: no, I would never be able to sell my virginity… BUT I don’t want to judge anyone. I don’t see the difference if she wants to “better her life” with new clothes, iPhone or whatever or maybe her situation is so bad that she really can’t see another solution. For me, it’s not ok for whatever reason. But as I said, I have never been in situation that was so bad to make me consider this kind of solution (I’m not talking about virginity only). And I hope I’ll never be.

I think that’s the line of thought from a lot of people considering it – “I’ll lose my virginity at some point or another anyways, so might as well make some money to better my life.” I like what you said about not being in a position to *need* that much though – we’re very blessed!

      1. Retire By 40 April 2, 2013 at 11:54 AM

It’s a slippery slope. If you sell it once, you’ll probably sell it again. It’s an easy way to make money.

        1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:07 PM

          hah! that’s very true, actually.

          1. Evan April 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM

So what if she does sell it again? I absolutely think prostitution should be legalized and taxed. It has been around since the dawn of time and is literally never going away EVER. Might as well as make it safe for everyone involved.

            1. J. Money April 8, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Meant more along the lines of selling your *virginity* twice. And not scamming people into thinking they’re buying it when they’re not.

  2. John S @ Frugal Rules April 2, 2013 at 8:16 AM

Wow, to each their own I guess. I wouldn’t do it, for many of the reasons you listed and would just feel dirty doing it anyway. You bring up a great point about how factual it might be. I think that is possibly a justifiable concern. But, then again, if you’re looking for something like this on the internet anyway, would you be concerned about something like that? ;)

  3. My Shiny Pennies April 2, 2013 at 10:10 AM

Yowza, what a topic. The younger me would have said yes because I was a very myopic young lass. But, the grown up me would say no in all circumstances because that’s not a conversation I would ever want to have with my family and all the money in the world would not be able to alleviate the guilt inside me.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:09 PM

It would be hard to explain where all that money came from, eh?

  4. Like A Virgin April 2, 2013 at 10:25 AM

This is nothing new, at least if you look at marriage from a historical perspective. The father sold his daughter’s virginity in exchange for land, titles, peace (if he was rich) or to get rid of another mouth to feed (if he was poor). This represents a perverse kind of progress; the woman now has the right the choose what she does with her body.

That said, Ewwww!!!! My first time was awkward enough with a guy I was in love with (as much as a 16 year old can be in love). Can you imagine what kind of creeps are out there?
A woman should not have to endure a flabby belly and hairy back her first time. X(

Finally, what makes her think her virginity is worth that kind of money? From what I’ve heard guys don’t find virgins particularly exciting.

    1. Jeremy April 2, 2013 at 12:55 PM

I was thinking along these lines. If it’s more from a historical standpoint, then we know where her thought process is, but virgin (male and female) generally suck at this particular thing. If I were her I would almost rather sell marriage and not just a one off sexscapade. She could easily get to know the man/men before hand, pick which one and have a slight chance at a happy life. Almost like a PG rated Bachelorette series.

      1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:17 PM

The historical aspect *is* pretty interesting, I’ll give it that.

  5. Christian L. April 2, 2013 at 10:33 AM

    J. Money,
I wouldn’t sell my body in any way, except maybe modeling some bicycles or something (I love bikes). I don’t really see how this will work out for her because like you said, you can get/find sex for free.

I wouldn’t go back to sell mine even if it meant I’d never have to work again. Losing your virginity is a priceless memory that shouldn’t be brought on by a payday.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:18 PM

hah! oddly enough a friend recently sent me a link to this site where it was naked girls and bikes, haha… no joke.

  6. Grayson @ Debt Roundup April 2, 2013 at 10:37 AM

I think that is quite creepy. The internet just allows people to capitalize on just about anything these days. I don’t know why this girl would even do that, but the thought of having money for just offering up sex might make it easier. The biggest issue as you indicated is safety. There are some people out there that would probably put this poor girl into the sex trade. Not the life for anyone.

  7. Michelle April 2, 2013 at 10:55 AM

Ha this is kind of scary to me. I usually don’t like to judge people, so I guess if there girl sees value in it and won’t be scarred for life, then okay?

  8. superbien April 2, 2013 at 10:56 AM

From the few details you mentioned, it sounds like she might be in a 3rd world country, and you often hear about families in destitution selling their little girls and boys into slavery, usually sexual slavery. So this is along those lines, but empowering this girl (in a horrible backwards way) to do the same thing but on her own terms. Her being willing to do that for her family is actually quite noble, given all of the safety and emotional issues that you can expect to go with.

And I’ve heard that there are quite a lot of people who are willing to pay for virginity – both as a sexual fetish (esp among sexual tourists in Asia), and because it’s one of the most pernicious falsehoods about AIDS that you can cure it by having sex with a virgin, which as an aside has made pedophilic rape (Google “Upington rape 9-month-old AIDS”… although really, just don’t) much more common. (Yes, one of my best friends works in the counter human trafficking trade, how did you know?)

Not to be the super big downer on an otherwise deliciously salacious story…

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:19 PM

oh wow, people really believe that?? so freaking horrible, jeez.

  9. Nick @ ayoungpro.com April 2, 2013 at 11:23 AM

Interesting topic J. When I was 18, I probably would have taken that deal. Now I wouldn’t, nor would I go back and do so. She may grow up to regret this.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:20 PM

if you had taken it back then, would you be blogging about it now? :)

  10. C The Writer April 2, 2013 at 11:49 AM

I heard about this. And I’m not going to lie, it’s crossed my mind. But it would have to be enough so that I would never have to work again.

But in the end I would simply find it too terrifying. Not many women have virginity to sell. I thought about selling my lip virginity, but I don’t think that would fetch a very high price.

I think I’m probably the only one who will admit this. I am in a financially difficult situation, but when I think it all over I don’t think I could sell my virginity, simply because the experience would be too harrowing for any amount of money. I wouldn’t feel bad about it, I don’t think it’s morally wrong, but I would just be too scared when it came down to it.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:20 PM

      appreciate your honesty here! :)

      1. C The Writer April 3, 2013 at 6:35 PM

Well, let’s be honest, you’re not going to have many actual virgins (the only people who can really answer) answering the question.

Just helping out however I can.

        1. J. Money April 4, 2013 at 9:09 PM

True that – but it’s nice to finally hear one stand up and say something! Despite everyone else here saying they don’t exist ;)

  11. William @ Bite the Bullet April 2, 2013 at 11:52 AM

Did she send you the email on April 1? Just asking…

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:21 PM

Haha no – although I’m sure I would have fallen for it just as I did the other 1,001 pranks pulled yesterday, ugh.

  12. Pauline April 2, 2013 at 12:38 PM

sure it is creepy but how many girls give their virginity to a douche for a couple of beers? at least the next day she won’t be hungover and will have money for whatever she calls a better life. None of those two things should happen, and we should all have our special moment with our special someone. But if I had to choose between being the easy drunk girl at the back of the car or the millionaire virgin I think I’d go for the latest. And reserve the right to pick “the one”.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:22 PM

I can see that side of things :) One “by accident” and one “on purpose” though – I don’t imagine many woman going out and saying “tonight I think I’ll lose my virginity after getting drunk” although I don’t pretend to know now women think :)

  13. Financial Black Sheep April 2, 2013 at 1:17 PM

Your blog and post titles are the reason I cannot read this stuff at work or public places HA! (Most routers block your website, just an FYI)

Anywho, a lot of these selling virginity women sound like a scam, because how do you know you will get what you paid for and how do you know the woman in the pictures is real?

Wasn’t this actually done back in the day (some still done today), just not as direct? Such as fathers marrying off their daughters for money, and others offering young girls for a fair amount of money such as prostitution.

I wouldn’t even sell my eggs in order to pay off debt. Selling my body to someone to help them have a baby did cross my mind (for the money), but in the end I find it too weird for me to follow through. There are always consequences to every action, and I would not like the repercussions of selling my eggs or body to anyone.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:23 PM

That’s that sucky part about having “sexy” in your domain – a lot of places think it’s a naughty site – something I intentionally did in the beginning not realizing there would be cons to it! haha…

  14. Mr. 1500 April 2, 2013 at 1:21 PM

Perhaps she saw the title of your blog and got the wrong idea? :)

However, when a reader gives you a lemon, perhaps it is time to make lemonade: xxxbudgets.com!

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:24 PM

I like the way you think ;)

  15. A former subscriber April 2, 2013 at 2:36 PM

I see you went all out for your readers. Did you dig this out of your spam folder? This article reads like something you could pick up on the internet sex slaves trade channels, or did your boyfriend write it for you? There are good advice columns and then there this Ronald McDonald of Low Budget crap.

    I just don’t get jackwagons.

For $500,000 or more, I would have done it. It would have paid for college, my first house, my second house, both of our cars, and a little more. So yeah, I think my virginity would have been worth the trade off. The thing is, I don’t think anyone would pay that much for someone’s virginity, lol.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 4:25 PM

      Only billionaire creepers :)

  17. steffy April 2, 2013 at 4:55 PM

With the exception of underage children, THERE ARE NO VIRGINS.

That email is run-of-the-mill sex spam.

By the way, how is it that the Nigerians haven’t gotten their teeth into this yet? The angles from which they can approach it are infinite.
    “Dear esteemed Sir
I entreat you to permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I do not hesitate to confide in you for this simple and sincere business because my research reveal you to be a reputable and trustworthy gentleman.

I am acquainted with the guardian of a female virgin of the highest calibre of virtue, chastity and modesty but alas poor and starving and forced into selling the Virginity for food, clothing, shelter, lower and higher education, health, and other basic needs.
    etc and so on.”

    1. Lisa April 2, 2013 at 5:26 PM

      Exactly!!!!
What virgins? The surgically created one?

      Please!!!

That email is such obvious spam, it is incredible that anyone could fail to recognize that.

      1. Andrew April 27, 2013 at 10:22 AM

Most research I’ve found says that 85% of adults over 21 have had sex. 15% is not an insignificant number. As a guy I was a virgin by choice until I40 was 25.

Studies in high schools show the number of virgins remains stay at about 50%.

    2. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 6:39 PM

confused – you don’t think there are virgins out there? (outside of children, of course). I’ll agree the odds are it’s a scam, but I’m pretty sure there are TONS of virgins out there 18 and up :)

      1. Lisa April 2, 2013 at 11:22 PM

        Nah!
I remember my high school had zero.

Not in this sex obsessed nation. Probably in Saudi Arabia. Maybe.

        1. J. Money April 3, 2013 at 8:01 AM

          Agree to disagree.

        2. C The Writer April 3, 2013 at 6:37 PM

Um…you’re wrong. I am 28 and I’ve never had sex with anyone, so yeah, you’re definitely wrong.

I’m not a child, I’ve just been super unlucky and never had anyone I wanted want me back. I know it’s hard to imagine, but not everyone’s feelings get reciprocated. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

          1. J. Money April 4, 2013 at 9:09 PM

            THANKS FOR SPEAKING OUT!! :)

            1. Crystal @ Prairie Ecothrifter April 9, 2013 at 5:12 PM

I was a virgin until I was 19 (now 30). It was a conscious decision since I did not want to be stuck in small town, TX for the rest of my life because of an accidental pregnancy. So I waited until I found someone special and I knew I could afford to raise any surprises even if it happened. And two of my friends now are still virgins at 26 and 30 (one gay male and one straight female) – they are waiting to meet someone special. Virginity still exists, lol.

              1. J. Money April 9, 2013 at 8:48 PM

I know!! The rest of the world seems to think it doesn’t.. Thanks for chiming in again! :)

  18. maria@moneyprinciple April 2, 2013 at 4:59 PM

This is a very difficult call; it is one of the things that is very tempting when contemplated and very hard to live with once done. To answer your question, no, I wouldn’t have done it and I won’t go back to do it (though I didn’t do this one right either, so this is how I know about regret). What I find interesting is that, to my mind at least, this kind of thing requires far too much sexual confidence for a virgin; any contradiction gets me interested :).

  19. Another Sarah April 2, 2013 at 5:56 PM

    Interesting.

For me, this is an easy call–I would not do it. I believe sex is as much about an emotional bond as it is a physical desire for another. It’s best when those two things are combined. Not sure how much trust you can have in a guy if he’s paying for it.

    1. J. Money April 2, 2013 at 6:39 PM

I agree – I’d be too afraid of what would bubble up down the road shall I ever attempt it ;)

  20. SavvyFinancialLatina April 2, 2013 at 8:30 PM

Considering I was raised hard core Catholic, I would not do this.
    No judging though.

  21. KK @ Student Debt Survivor April 2, 2013 at 11:14 PM

” I don’t want to be the one who screws her.” lol. Hoping this was spam, but I’m sure there are folks out there willing to sell their virginity for a number of reasons. While I obviously don’t condone sex for money, I wouldn’t judge a person who wanted to sell their virginity as long as it’s two consenting adults who are involved. To each his/her own.

  22. Canadian Budget Binder April 2, 2013 at 11:58 PM

No, I would have had no desire to do such a think even for a million dollars. The sad part is it’s likely been happening for ages we just didn’t hear about it. Like everything else, I don’t judge people on how they choose to live their life, after all it’s theirs not mine.

  23. Mike Collins April 3, 2013 at 7:25 AM

A million dollars sounds absurdly over-priced.

To quote George Costanza…Why should I pay, when if I apply myself maybe I could get it for free?”

    1. J. Money April 3, 2013 at 8:02 AM

      haha indeed!

  24. Glen @ Monster Piggy Bank April 3, 2013 at 7:36 AM

A bit late for me also, but I would have loved to have made some money when I lost mine. Unfortunately, as you say, there isn’t much of a market for a mans virginity.

  25. Tony@WeOnlyDoThisOnce April 3, 2013 at 10:24 AM

What a very sad situation. I’m sure we all appreciate you keeping the information anonymous.

  26. Shafi April 3, 2013 at 11:23 AM

    Hey J.,

I would not talk moral. She is 18 and yet she says she is virgin. Millions have lost virginity while they were a lot younger. We only know when they get pregnant.

    1. J. Money April 3, 2013 at 11:37 AM

I still don’t buy that every 18 y/o has had sex. Most of them have, yes, but I can promise you that there are a ton that haven’t yet for whatever reason as well.

  27. @pfinMario April 4, 2013 at 4:32 PM

Without more details — what country, what her background is, what her other options are — I’m not going to jump to conclusions. My fear is that I don’t like it because it forces me to hear about a person so poor that prostitution is her best option when I’d much rather not hear about it at all. I don’t have a solution…

    1. J. Money April 4, 2013 at 9:10 PM

That’s an interesting way of thinking of it – def. sad, you’re right :(

  28. olivia September 20, 2013 at 9:43 AM

So here I am, a 26f virgin researching thisbecause it is intriguing. I am an attractive girl, college educated at a top U, short, athletic, E34, blue eyes, curly brown hair, while skin, and I am wonderingif I could do it. I feel like I have been a virgin long enough but I do not want to wait for a man who will probably be surprised by this. Maybe even uncomfortable. I imagine whoever I do it with the first time will just end like all other relationships and I will have given a piece of myself to no more than an ex bf. Instead I could do it with someone who really wants to do it for the first time and would be willing to give me something in return. I am also intrigued by the marriage option. I am beautiful and smart, I wonder if can auction my virgin hand in marriage… Maybe even on tv as a virgin bachelorette. Stranger things have happened. And it is not so bad. Promiscuous girls can leverage their lif style in many ways, and they are getting and having sex. Virgins shouldn’t get a bad rap for this. They are just being smart with something of value we have kept for a very long time at our own expense . to give it away at this point may just be silly. It is an investment on my part to be a virgin, and it should be an investment on his part to be a part of that. I won’t find a virgin. And it doesn’t make sense for me to wait for someone who has been having sex all the while just to show up and have me too before moving on again.
