We’re baaaaaack! For the third time in a row, Brad Chaffee and I are delighted to bring back our favorite giveaway of the year :) The time when we, personally, get to say THANK YOU for all the support and love you’ve shown us throughout our years of blogging. From 2008 to 2011 – and soon to be 2012 – y’all have come back time and time again, and we want you to know just how thankful and honored we are. Without our readers these blogs wouldn’t exist! (Nor my career for that matter ;))
So from the bottom of our hearts – thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! We can never say it enough.
And to put our money where our thanks are (hah!), we’re once again dishing out the Benjamins for the 3rd year in a row. Up for grabs THIS Christmas Stimulus is $300 Cold ones! :) 3 lucky winners from THIS blog will be awarded with $50 in cash (or rather Visa gift cards, Paypal, Amazon, or pretty much whatever you want that’s *not* cash, haha…), and then another 3 will win the same over at Brad’s Enemy of Debt blog. SIX WINNERS altogether – woohoo!
All you have to do to enter is answer one simple question:
What are you MOST thankful for this holiday season?
It can be family, friends, jobs, hot girlfriends, money, health, whatever’s at the top of your mind this very second. And you don’t have to answer the “normal” answers either if you don’t want – we all know you love your mom and dad ;) Be open and honest!
And to take this giving even further this season, we’re gonna do one killer giveaway EACH DAY OF THIS WEEK here at Budgets Are Sexy :) I’ve been storing up quite a stock pile over the weeks, and it’s time to unload them all this week… ‘Tis the season to be giving, yo!
Now go and tell us what you’re thankful for down below in the comments… (And then head to Brad’s blog to enter a SECOND time so that you have 3 MORE options to win $50!) I am thankful for my mind…and for my willingness to grow….for the ability to be objective and for the choice to choose a different path. For relationships…because they are my biggest test that I am lining up my principles/values with my experience.
I’m definitely thankful that my family has been able to move back south after being away for so long and that we’re finally able to have a Christmas with them and my grandmother will be able to join us. It’s been a long time since that has happened!
Im thankful that I had taken the time over the years to spend a lot of quality time with my grandmother. When she unexpectedly passed away this spring, I was able to let her go because I had no regrets about not spending enough time with her and I knew that she knew how much I loved her
I’m thankful for just having a job, since I know not many do at this time. I’m also thankful that I am getting the opportunities I need to advance, be successful, and happy in life.
This year, a year filled with amazing people, opportunities and events, above all else I’m most thankful for my wife.
In June we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, and it was just one of the many moments over the last 12 months that reminded me how lucky I am to have this amazing woman in my life. Not only has she stuck with me for a year+ now (almost 4 total together), but she was willing to move half-way across the country so I could take a terrific job that helped turn a seemingly random job into a full-fledged career path. She has supported me through a lot of difficult decisions, and done her best to help make the move and the transition as easy and pleasant as possible.
I couldn’t ask for a better woman.

I’m thankful for my family, especially thankful for my husband and my 2 handsome little sons, 2 & 4 years old. My 2 year old, my “million dollar baby” as I call him (hello medical bills!) had a really rough year but in the end he always has a smile on his face and keeps pushing on. I’m praying 2012 brings on a much healthier year for everyone, it’s so easy to take it for granted.

I’m really thankful for my roommate! I never had one before, but she’s everything you’d want. She’s a great listener, helps out around the house, keeps me on even keel definitely has become a best friend. Without her, this year would have been really rough.
I am most thankful for my kids and my husband. They can always bring a smile to my face!

Look at all that love!!! Keep on sharing it, my friends – it’s a beautiful day! :)
A full night of sleep last night–first one in 10 months! I mean, I am thankful for my little alarm clock, Ben, too but ahhhh sleeeeeep!
I’m incredibly thankful for the fact that I will be graduating college completely debt-free!
I am thankful for both my 8 month old daughter who suprised us by showing up 2 months earlier than expected and that she has proven all the doctors wrong. I am thankful for my family, my health and my friends, the opportunity to serve my community as a volunteer EMT and the blessing of a job to provide me with a home and food. :) Pretty good for a recent college graduate!

Thankful for living in this great nation – with freedom and opportunity!
My strong body that allows me to sweat every day to get stronger and work toward my training goals!
I am definitely thankful for a supportive family who are constantly so encouraging. Also I’m thankful for just a warm home and roof over my head, especially as the temperatures keep dropping.
I’m really thankful that even though my husband is unemployed and we have very little money, we can still spend Christmas together and are now home with family and friends rather than 1,000 miles away like most of the year. I guess that is a little cheesy, and I would love to have some money, but family is what is important, and he’s mine. :)
I’m thankful for finally being debt free! And I’m also thankful for my future husband recently becoming debt free! We are starting our future on the right track!!
I am thankful to have a strong network of friends and family who are supportive and caring while I’m in job transition. Every day isn’t easy, but they make it better for me.

I am most thankful for my wonderful fiancee!
This is an easy one… I’m thankful my old lady is pregnant for the first time and I’m going to be a dad in July….
It’s also the most scared of anything I have even been too!
I’m thankful for my health, my family, my boyfriend, and for life. :)
I have to say that I am thankful for the health of my family members. Just recently, 2 of my friends’ fathers passed away and I can’t imagine being without my Dad at Christmastime or any other time of the year.
I am thankful for a healthy baby that arrived last spring, my wonderfully precocious four year old and my amazing husband.
I am thankful for my Dad. He had two strokes earlier this year that left him paralyzed on his left side. While in a nursing home, he contracted a bedsore that became so bad that we thought he was going to die. Like, I was actually called by doctors to come soon because we thought my Dad would die within 24 hours. Suffice to say, he didn’t die, and he is still alive. But I keep thinking how if things had turned out another way, he wouldn’t be here. So yeah, I am thankful ol’ Pop is around.
Sorry for the tear-jerker but it is the honest truth.
I am most thankful for my family.
Family and friends, where would we be without them?
I am thankful to be alive and living life to the fullest!
i am thankful for my family & friends this christmas season. they are always there for me with love & support.
I have so much to be thankful for this year. The year started off rough for me but I came out so much better in the end in a way I could never predict. I am thankful for my home, my family, & my career!
I am so thankful for everything in my life, especially my family and friends, but also ranging from my new desk to the step ladder in the garage. I just try to stay grateful.
I am most thankful for having the courage to take risks and move my family out of a very bad area! It’s been stressful financially, but absolutely worth it. We can go outside without worried about being shot, it’s nice! :)
I am thankful that I will not be moving in the snow! I am also thankful for the family and friends that I have.
I am thankful for the congress at least thinking about extending the payroll tax holiday for another year, without which our paychecks would be about 2% smaller next year :(
I’m thankful that I’m happy in everything that I do and also for all my wonderful friends and family.
This year, my son was diagnosis at-risk for autism in July. We were not sure what the future would look like for our family. However, after adjusting our budgets :) and getting him all the help we could possibly obtain, he is doing amazing! We are so thankful for each and every smile and every single giggle of laughter!
I’m most thankful that I’m spending my life with the right person.
I am thankful for so much-my health, a year of rediscovering myself, my husband and kids, family, friends, a job, and the basic necessities in life.
I’m thankful for my 6 Y.O. son, and for everything that motherhood has tought me.
I am thankful for two things that both happened at the end of 2011 – my year and a half long search for a new, higher paying job ended successfully and I began it in late November. Also I began a new relationship with a man who is wonderful and outstanding. Life is good!
I’m thankful that I still have 5-6 months before my boyfriend deploys again! And for my sister’s winter job in Florida, which prompted our new tradition of Christmas-ing near the beach.
This year I am so thankful for my kids and a job to support them on my own. I am a single mom and don’t receive any help financially from my ex. He literally hasn’t paid one penny since who knows when (YEARS). So I am so thankful that I am able to work hard to support my kids and myself on my own. Without it I don’t know what I would do. Money gets so tight at times, but at least I have a job.
I am so grateful to have a job to support my family with in this tough economy!
I’m so grateful for my family, and the ability to be doing something i love!
I’m thankful for still being sane after a crazy year :-)
I am thankful for a lot of things, but I think most of all this year I’m thankful for my husband and the brand new family we’re starting!
I am most thankful for the little girl who crawls into my bed each morning, kisses me, and says “I love you, mommy.” She is a blessing and a miracle. No amount of money could buy that.
I am most thankful that I am able to go home for a few days to family (and pancakes).
I am thankful my husband works hard so that I can stay home with our son. Even if it means things get tight (which they frequently do).
This year, I’m thankful for my job, which keeps us able to pay our bills and reduce our debt.
I am thankful for my family, friends, their health and mine. I’m also thankful for all the blessings I’ve received this year and in past years. Hopefully, I’ll be blessed again with $50!
I am most thankful for my family and job.
I’m thankful for many things in my life: my boyfriend, my family, my health, my job, the recent raise I received, and all the small things that make my life great :)
Above and beyond my family, friends, and well being;
I am thankful that I am 700 dollars away from paying off my student loans. I have been paying half my monthly taxable income each month to pay it off as quick as possible. I set a goal of 2 years, I made it in 2.5. I can’t imagine how good it will feel to look at that account and see zero!
I am thankful for the chance to be back in school, and that my husband supports me through it. But can’t wait to be done in two more years!
I’m thankful for my health, great friends, and the ability to help others. After a co-workers wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer, we all took a step back to realize how fortunate we are and as a group, did a holiday adopt-a-family.
I’m thankful that my guy and I have weathered 7 years together, including a stint over the last year between when he finished school and when he found a job. It was tough — especially for him — but we made it work without an ridiculous fights.
I am thankful for my two little boys….and their innocent view of the world and people around them! I wish I had more of that :)
I’m thankful for my health and the health of my family. :)
Lots of stuff…at the top would be my family and friends.
I am thankful to finally have a steady income with benefits as opposed to years in college of scraping by. It’s a good feeling to slowly be paying those debts down that accrued during college!!
I’m thankful for family, friends, health, and all of the good things that we have like a roof over our heads.
I’m thankful for finally having found the courage to leave my awful marriage after years of emotional abuse. I’ve been more at peace with myself, and life in general, for the last 6 months than I can ever remember.
I’m thankful for my (mental) health, which has improved for the first time in 23 years and stayed improved. I LOVE MY DOCTOR!
This holiday season I am most thankful for my parents. I sometimes take for granted that they were not uber-strict with me and I perhaps had an easier childhood than many other. Even now, I thank them for continuing to support me as I try to find a job.
I am thankful that both my husband and I have jobs.
I’m thankful for having kids so that i can pick out the cool toys that my parents wouldn’t buy for me and then play with them!
Aside from the expected stuff (health, family, etc.), I am thankful to be making progress on our debt. It’s a slow process but every month gets us just a little closer to being rid of credit cards.
I’m thankful for a good job!
I’m thankful for my job and the good health of my family and friends.
I am most thankful for the good health in my family and a wonderful home with my fiancé and dog. :)
I am thankful for the health of my family. We have been very lucky and very blessed!
I’m thankful for the new man in my life and a promotion that has loosened up my budget a bit.
I am thankful for my family, my boyfriend, friends, having a job. I am thankful for the finicial advise blogs like this one that keep me motivated.
I am thankful for my husband. I recently got married and after 30 years of being single, I am so thankful that I found someone who loves me for exactly who I am. I kissed a lot of frogs in my dating years, so not a day goes by that I am not thankful that my search is over.
I am thankful that my surgery went well and I am almost 100%. I am thanful for my new job and new career path. I am thankful for finding who I am and that there won’t be any family drama this year during the holidays. I am also thankful for my husband and all the things he puts up with and my cute, snuggly fuzzies. But most of all I am very thankful for completing all my 2011 goals early and so I can truly enjoy Christmas debt free :)
So much for which to be thankful! At the most basic level, I am thankful for the gift of each day of life. Everything else flows from that.
I’m thankful for the fact that my husband will be home again this Christmas. We get lucky sometimes, even if he misses the summers…. He’s even getting time off! *gasp* The last time he actually took leave was last September.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband and two great daughters, general good health , we have a warm comfortable home and lots to eat.
While I have alot to be thankful for, I am especially thankful for my unborn baby.
I love being a mom to my 5 year old son, and since the minute he was born, I knew I wanted more children.
After going thru a divorce, though, and getting older, and older, I began to worry that by the time I found someone else, i would be too old to get pregnant again.
To my delight, I found out I was pregnant just two months after my September wedding. I am so excited that my time for this miracle has not yet passed and that I was able to get pregnant so quickly, as I know many people who struggle with infertility.
Even though my health and my loved ones’ health isn’t 100% perfect I’m thankful that we are in as good of shape as we are right now. We’ve had a few issues this year, but we’re all OK and working to get as healthy as possible. I’m also incredibly thankful for my dog/baby/best friend Cooper. He is my loyal constant companion and has been a wonderful addition to our family.
After being told I was unable to have children without IVF, I’m 10000% grateful for the healthy little baby growing inside me!! No medical intervention needed!!! It’s a happy miracle!!! I am eternally grateful for this gift.
I am so glad that I married my husband.
As frustrating as this year has been financially and personally, I can find millions of things to be thankful for.
– I am forever thankful for my family, particularly my parents. I have never met two more amazing people in my life and I am grateful every day that I grew having literally the best parents on earth.
– I am thankful for my new job. I may be strapped financially still in some ways, but I am so very thankful for a job where my coworkers and superiors actually respect me, appreciate the work I do, and reward me for it. I feel valued more than I ever have at a job.
– I am thankful for my boyfriend, who despite his un-romantic outward tendencies, cares about me to no end and takes care of me, especially when I truly need it (a certain 4am weeknight call to him when I needed someone to drive me to the emergency room rings a bell in this regard!).
– I am thankful for my friends. So very glad I have found a group of people that I mesh with so well and have never-ending fun times with.
– I am thankful for my health. I feel so fortunate to be healthy and happy, particularly when others are not :( I am able to live my life to it’s fullest and am very grateful that I have a body that allows me to do so.
There are so many more things to be thankful for, but these are the big few.
I am thankful for our health!
I am most thankful for the health of my family (wife and kid)!
I’m most thankful for my family and friends health & well being. As cliche as it sounds, we lost our 2 month old cousin to SIDS last month, so it really brought the family together and reminds you that you need to be thankful for what you do have.
I’m thankful to be happy, healthy, financially stable, and loved/supported by family & friends.
I am thankful for healthy children and good divorce lawyers.
I’m most thankful that I’ve gotten as far as I have in one short year since deciding to radically change my life. My blog, my freelancing, and my new-found joy in life as a result of it make me go all mushy and fuzzy every time I think about it. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2012!
i am most thankful for my new job – less stress, less hours, and more pay! :)
I am thankful for great friends and family…and enough money to do fun things with them!
I’m most thankful for: My Life! I’m so glad to be alive, to be living this wonderful life, with all the ups and downs. I am enjoying everything life has to offer.
I’m incredibly thankful for jobs. I got a promotion and my boyfriend got a full-time job. Two VERY good things at this time of year, in this economy, and in general!
I am thankful to be living in a nice apartment with neighbors who don’t blare bad music all hours of the night.
I’m thankful for so much, a steady income and a family that’s willing to put their retirement plans on hold so that my daughter doesn’t have to go to daycare.
I am thankful for co-workers who make the lower salary worth it, and a fiance and pets to come home to for snuggles!
After nearly 28 years of living with my mother, who was nothing but the most kindest and patient of roommates as it became in my adult years…I’m thankful for the fact that I was able to find a place of my own, in the middle of the 2009 economy’s sky falling (at all times), and that I’ve been able to maintain it to this day with my ongoing job that I still have and at least like (Systems Support Tech).
I’m thankful for a friendship network who are helping support my fitness goals. I’m trying to get in shape, and my friends are really helping. I now have a weekly date with a group of friends to swim at the pool, rain or shine! I have a friend who goes to a yoga class with me. I even have a weekly cooking date with a friend who’s trying to learn to cook more fresh produce. Other friends are more than happy to make a date to go for a walk here and there. I’m so grateful that I have people to help get me moving and eating healthier. I now have a packed social calendar! On top of that, I’m doing things to help get me in shape, and these are mostly FREE or low cost as well! Wins all around, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I am most thankful for my husband and I finally being on the same page financially. Bye debt!!
I’m definitely most thankful for my wife. She always loves me and always supports me. She’s just about perfect, and I love her so much.
I am most thankful for my faith. Without that, I know that our family would not have survived this year!
The kids … THey make the holidays fun
I am most thankful for the internet. Living in a town of 312 and a county of 718 where gossip and small-mindness runs rampant, I have access to a much broader cross-section of the world. Thank you to all who share your knowledge, opinions, and how you spend your life.
I am most thankful for an incredibly supportive family and fiance this past year. They supported my emotionally and financially during a period of unemployment between jobs, and I can’t thank them enough.
I’m most thankful for my spouse and my dog! Pretty plain answer, but it’s true.
Thankful for actually having the first in years of a non-stress string of terrible events. I enjoy even the smallest things so that by this holiday season I’m actually enjoying A holiday season – going out and seeing the decorations, seeing all the holiday events, and simply sharing the cheer with friends and family.
Thankful for my health! It allows me to take care of my family and work…which allows me to make money!
I’m thankful I got a chance to meet J$ !
Seriously, I’m thankful for a lot this year. Having a job, my wife and her parents being on good terms again, family. If I had to pick one, I’d have to go with the job (sorry mom). Being out of work was HUGELY stressful.
I’m most thankful for having a great healthy family. Baby RB40 is such a cute little guy and made our lives much more interesting. ;)
I’m thankful for the $50 I’m about to win! haha… No, seriously, I’m thankful for my kids and husband, of course!
I’m thankful for a husband who is loves spending time with me and our 4 children.
This year, I’m thankful that I am able to perform my job duties as a emergency medical technician (EMT) and firefighter to the best of my ability. I have lost some patients and some buildings in the process – but I’m thankful that in this world, there are people who welcome us into their homes in their deepest hours of need and trust in my abilities to save them or their property. I am thankful for my “family” and fellow sisters/brothers in the fire, police and emergency medical services for all that they do and will continue to do, no matter the weather, time of day or day of the week; 24/7.
My favorite quote is “I don’t know who you are – but I’m ready to save you at any given moment”.
I am thankful even with all of the extra crap going on at work (and there is a lot of it) I have a job I like and I am being well paid for what I am doing.
I am thankful for Wild Turkey.
Of course I’m thankful for my family & friends and all that, but I’m also super thankful to have a whole week off of work at Christmas!!
I am so thankful for finding a job two weeks before my last day at work due to layoffs, and for my husband who has been so supportive through the past two months when I was going crazy on said job search even though I think he might have wanted to scream sometimes, lol.
I’m thankful for a roof over my head, food on the table, warmth in the cold months, coolness in the hot humid months, technology to enhance our lives, a healthy body to be able to work and play, and a wife who loves me and reminds me of the right things to worry about and put my time and effort into. Most importantly, thankful for my homie Jesus, for His sacrifice on the cross and the way He teaches me to love, serve, and lay down my wants/needs/rights for the sake of others, for His glory! Blessed!
I’m thankful for knowing where I’m headed next year, no matter what happens. I’m thankful for a wonderful husband who is supportive of the new vision and journey that we will embark upon as well as two beautiful angels God has blessed us with in the form of our children. I am thankful for a crappy job, to help me realize my true potential. I am thankful for a wonderful family and a loving God who showers blessings on His children through the grace and mercy of His Son.
Im thankful that I’m finally making my health a priority in my life. I’m also thankful for my relationship. My boyfriend and I live on two different continents so it’s been difficult at times but we just passed our first year anniversary and we are still going strong!
I’m thankful for my family’s health and my new baby girl.
I am thankful for my husband finally getting a full-time job! We’ve lived on one salary for far too long.
I am thankful that my wonderful girlfriend said yes when I asked her to marry me this past weekend. Not only will I get to spend the rest of my life with an amazing gal, it will force me to get my finances in shape before we combine our accounts!
I’m most thankful for my family, my health, and my home.
I am thankful for second chances that I can show my seven year old son that proper planning and a sound budget can provide a great life. I am thankful that I am slowly climbing out of the financial hole I created when he was born. Thanks for the great website. keep up the great work.
i am thankful for my good health, friends, and family.

I’m thankful that I FINALLY tallied all my debt balances and have started my snowball! Two bills down already! I’m also thankful that my hubby lets me manage all the finances so we can do the same thing with his debt!
I’m most thankful that I’m having an ordinary holiday season. We’re doing the same thing we usually do, with the same people. Nothing out of the ordinary – no major illness, financial disasters, family fueds to interfere with lots of good food and laughter, just hanging out with people we love.
I nearly lost my Mom 2 years ago to colon cancer but God saved her, healed her and she is still with us and she did not even have to take any treatments! She is 83 and I am so thankful for every day that I have her.
having one more year with the people I love the most
Perserverance, which makes me all the more thankful for my family, friends and all men and women who are out there serving our country to protect our freedoms. Persevere to get through the year.
I’m thankful to have a roof over my head. Four months ago, my plan to move fell through on moving day, and I had no idea where I was going to go. So, having a place to live, Yay!
I’m most grateful for growth–this year, I learned how to live without things that I thought I really needed. I moved back in with my parents, and I’m still alive to talk about it, lol. My long-term boyfriend asked for a break to “figure things out,” and I’m not a complete basketcase! I’ve cut out salon trips and have learned to embrace my naturally crazy curly hair. This year, I learned not only how to let go, but how to move forward, too. And I feel just a little bit sexier because of it. =)
I am most thankful for my daughter graduating from college a year early, landing a job with EY, and kicking her life into high gear and accelerating her student loan payments!! And secondly, finding all these wonderful PF blogs and kicking a substantive potion of my debt to the curb.
I am thankful for the opportunity to wake up everyday and have another chance to set things right in my life. To continue to learn from my mistakes(of which there are many), Make amens with people I might have wronged or let slip out of my life, and to enjoy the many blessings I have. I am thankful that I am challenged everyday to become a better person and the grow into the person I dream myself to be. And most of all I am thankful That I have been given an opportunity to weather this storm known as life. Everyday is a Blessing.
My beautiful family– wonderful and supportive husband/best friend, crazy 2 year old daughter who laughs all the time, and a sweet and snuggly 2 month old son who has just started to do the goofy gummy baby smiles. They are the reason I do any of the things that I do, and I never imagined my life could be this good. Blessed.
I am thankful for the health of my family and the fact that we are financially stable.
There is so much that I am thankful for, but if I have to pick one it is my amazing husband. He is funny, loving, hard working and best of all knows and loves me!
I am most thankful for the health insurance provided by my employer as I will be having surgery in early 2012 to cure me of a disease I have been fighting for almost 20 years.
Thanks to you guys for spreading the love and money!
I am thankful my husband got a full-time job this year that he enjoys, that we get to spend the holidays with family, and that we’re well on our way to saving up for our big life goals.
This year I am thankful for my wonderful friends. I moved about 1 1/2 years ago to start a new job and have found an amazing group of friends who are as close as family (if not closer). It has made the transition much easier. With that said, the hubby and family are pretty top rated as well.
To a wonderful Son who turned 18 today.
I am most thankful for having finally paid off my line of credit!
Hmm well I guess for my wonderful boyfriend for all his support this whole year, my family for driving me crazy but still loving all the same, and being able to say that all my Holiday shopping is doneeee!
I’m thankful for my terrific girlfriend, family, and friends!
I am thankful for my happiness. This year I really worked hard at becoming the happiest person I could. I took the loss of my full time job and made it work, because it finally forced me to leave a place that was killing me inside. Honestly, I am ten times happier now than when I was making 3-5 times as much money.
I am thankful for my friends and family!
I am thankful for so many things (my health, great relationships, etc.) but this year I am especially grateful for my education. I received enough funding that 5 years of graduate school should be paid for with little-to-no loans. I know that I am incredibly lucky for having received this financial gift, so that I can pursue my career goals without going into massive debt.
I am most thankful for my family, friends, and my job.
I’m most thankful that my sister is coming to town. I haven’t seen her all year!
I’m so thankful for consistent employment for both myself and DH.
I’m thankful that I finally got my senses together in the beginning of the year, and started to pay off my debts religiously. For the past two years, I have accummulated $20,000 worth of debt, and I chose to ignore them because I didn’t want to face the consequences of my bad decisions.
Early this year, I decided to wake up from my folly and I started attacking the debts one by one. Instead of 4 debt accounts, I’m now down to 2. Instead of having $20,000 in debt, I’m down to $6,000. And I am certain that I can clear off my debts before I celebrate my 30th birthday next June.
Moreover, I have also relooked at my insurance plans. They serve as a protection in case any disasters incapacitate me, and they also serve as a savings avenue. I’m paying $1,000 a month, and I will potentially get a payout of $750K – $1M by the time i hit 65. On top of it, I am saving money aside every month for a downpayment for an apartment in Singapore too.
That’s not all! I’ve never thought about side-hustling, but I must say, the recent post on “Phone Sex Operator” got me thinking deeper :))) I’ve always enjoyed writing since young, and last week I secured my own column in a jewellery magazine that is circulated througout Asia Pacific. SUCCESS!!! It doesn’t earn me much – only $160 every month – but hey, it’s still something.
2011 has been a great year for me, and I’m thankful for how much I’ve grown. I know 2012 would be boombastic too – that is, if the predicted Armageddon doesn’t hit us!!!!
I am thankful for my wonderful husband and 2 active boys. They all bring joy and happiness to every day!
I know everyone has said this, and maybe it is cliche`, but truly if my home burned down, I lost my job and the cars went kaput I would still be thankful that I have my husband and four kids and that everyone is healthy and happy. We can get through anything as long as we have one another.
I am most thankful that I am able to still be an entrepreneur after leaving corporate America 8 years.

I’m thankful for choices: I made the choice to do the hard thing this year and start living life, rather than sitting and letting happiness pass me by.
Definitely my friends, with whom I’m trying to cultivate deeper relationships. I didn’t spend nearly enough time on my relationships while I was working the office job, so this is a nice change of pace.

This year, I am grateful that my entire family will be here for the holiday season. We’ve had a tumultuous couple of years, and now that the dust has settled, everyone will be home! I am most thankful for my best friend. My life has been an absolute roller coaster for the last year and she is the one person has who has been along side me for the entire ride. Even though she relocated half way across the U.S. she is the one person I can always count on to be there, to pick me up, set me straight or just give me a swift kick when I need it.

Wowza! $100 dollars – thank you very much. One third is going to a local charity; one third is going to my Tax Free Savings Account and one third is going to a nice lunch with a friend.
I would use the $100 to pay off the gifts I bought for our son on Black Friday, but at 0% which we will pay off since we budget for already…and that would give me an extra $100 to put in savings!
If the time of debt you speak of is in about mid to late 90s I was still living in phillie. I moved to Lancaster some years ago now…. While in phillie. I remember mom sitting me down at 6 or 7 trying to explain what bankruptcy was and how it meant a lot of bad stuff happened with the way my mother invested it was a very long and frustrating swim just to barely keep above water. This is why we left city to cheaper place to live Lancaster pa. As much as that sucked I think it mentally triggered a saving switch in me. I remember my ma saying “ok I have three dollars till payday (4 days away) and on a Saturday she made that three dollars work for us two hot dogs an a water to split at pennslanding. If your thinking well whats the point ya can stop trying I was just opening window into my past for yall
Pay off the pesky vet bill.

When I win the $100. I am going to put it into my investment account. When the interest is gained on the money, I will use the money to purchase a new laptop to do my writing and presentations new year 2019.
Just had a baby so will be spending the $100 on diapers and formula!!
Being a daddy. It’s the best.
I’d use it for my husband and I to get massages. We’re in need of some self-care and with a free $100 that seems like an excellent way to use it!
I am very thankful for mine and my family’s health. Last year at this time my 18 month old niece was receiving a kidney from my sister (her aunt). This year they are both doing very well and healthy. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing and, now healthy, family!
Like just about everyone else, I’m thankful for family, love and health. That was my obvious reaction, too.
But I’m also thankful for the chance to direct my own life and live it the way I choose. Self-employment means I can go see aging relatives (would rather go for a visit than a funeral), do fun things (afternoon movie, long lunch with a friend, attending FinCon, et al.), spend time with my recently retired partner, and be available to help others as needed: providing emergency child care, take a friend to medical appointments, etc.
When my niece would have had to take a day off work to let workers into the house to replace doors, I was able to say “No, save your vacation days — I’ll just take my laptop over to your house and wait for them.” If someone needs a ride to the airport (which is close to where we live), I can suggest they drive to our place and leave their car and I’ll take them over vs. their having to pay for a taxi and parking.
Of course, self-employment also means means hustling a lot vs. relying on a regular paycheck from the Umbrella Corporation. Worth the trade-off. I’m thankful.
I’m thankful for the $69,242.13 that I’ve managed to save and invest in the last 2 years. I’ve never even had a savings account with more then $500.

Attempting to enter the contest for 2017.
How would you use this $100 this holiday season?
I would use part to purchase Christmas dinner and the balance would go to emergency savings, same place all found money goes.
Hope you have a happy holiday season.
Buy wine! I have everything else I need!
My daughters are going to sleep away camp this summer. It is REALLY expensive. So much so we (my husband and I) told the girls they would not be getting holiday gifts from us, but would use the $$ towards camp. They were not too disappointed since they are super excited for camp. If I were to get $100, I would put it towards the camp expenses.
I’m thankful for my husband’s brain surgery. No. Really. After a week of being stubborn and having the worst headache of his life, he finally decided to go to ER. He had a ruptured aneurysm and another about to blow. After the surgery and weeks in the hospital followed by months of PT/OT/Speech Therapies, he is able to walk, talk and breathe. We had an incredible neurosurgeon and wonderful nurses, therapists and church friends who helped me transport the kids to school and games during this major obstacle in our lives! What more can I say?
So thankful that I found the personal finance community some years ago. It has allowed me to vastly improve my own life – but most importantly, has enabled me to volunteer as a debt counselor in my local community. I am so thankful every time I see how our work help struggling families find a path forward.
I’m thankful to have my family healthy and together
Freedom and Family. For sure. Every single day.
I’m thankful for my God, my husband, our children and grandchildren – every day. I’m also thankful to be celebrating 2 years of living full-time in our RV, Georgie Boy!
I’m thinking that the question was to say how I’d spend the $100 if won. We are in dire straits, so it would go to living expenses. This time next year, God willing, will be different though!
I’m really thankful that whenever I need money I get it. It’s almost magical, that God or the Universe give it to me at the perfect time.
I’m hoping that you will be part of this magic Mr. J. Money.
I’m considering to start a blog and would appreciate if you would find a way to pay my first domain from your giveaway money.
If I had an extra hundred this year, it would go straight to my youngest. Newly out on his own, and working hard to learn this budgeting thing… An extra hundred for him to not have to worry about (or to put into his budget, his call to learn *grin*) would be great.
This year I looked at all the black Friday things to see if something jumped and I wanted “ooo me me me me!”… and nothing hit me. It was a weird feeling knowing I am happy and content with exactly what I have.
Wish I could say I’d do something fun, but I know myself – I’d pay bills. Adulting blows!
I know this will be ridiculed, but I would invest/speculate/gamble on cryptocurrencies. Don’t judge me!!!
