Who Has a Bucket List? Who Wants $500 Towards it?? ;)

To-Do List Tattoo
That’s riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!  Hitting ya hard with a crazy – never been done before –  $500 cash giveaway! To ONE lucky person! (Woahhhh! Who’s your favorite blogger?? ;))

Yup, we’re partnering today with the fine folks at Life Insurance Finder – an Australian group that helps people find out how much life insurance they *need*,  over how much an insurance salesman is going to *sell* them – and all you have to do to enter is tell us what’s on YOUR Bucket List! :)  And then blog about it if you want even more entries (I know I know, it’s one of those weird point systems – but believe me, this is the ONE contest where it’s definitely worth it!) I’ll start today’s giveaway off right…

Here are a few items from MY Bucket List:

  1. Go to an airport and jump on the next flight out! I don’t know when I’d have the balls to do this one day, or the *time* for that matter, but I swear – I WILL accomplish it!  And you better believe $500 would help facilitate that too ;)  Sucks I can enter this giveaway!!!! (In fact, I don’t eve get a dollar from it! Haha…)
  2. Play in the World Series of Poker!  I. Would. Die.  And then when I woke back up, I’d take everyone’s chips ;)  I freakin’ love Texas Hold’em!  And when I’m on fire, I’m on fire… (and of course the opposite holds true too – when I’m sucking, I’m REALLY sucking! Haha…)
  3. Go on a cruise.  You’d think I’d have accomplished this one already, but after all the traveling I’ve done – both here in the states, and across the world – I have still yet to step onto a sexy boat like that.  And I was *almost* supposed to go on a cruise this winter w/ my family, but it doesn’t work in our schedule!  Booooooo….
  4. Get my “things” down to 100.  This will probably the the last thing to happen, but it doesn’t mean I still can’t try!  Everyone’s gotta start somewhere, right?  Even if it’s at the 10,000 mark? ;)  I’ll admit I’ve been slacking on my minimalism reads lately, but I swear I’m always thinking about it.  One item in, one item out baby!  (later to be “100 items out!” haha…)
  5. Interview (or party with) a Celebrity.  Whichever comes first ;)  If anyone’s besties with Britney Spears, Jay-Z, or Warren Buffet – let me know.  I wouldn’t mind talking money, or beer, with those guys any day.  Shoot, throw in Vanilla Ice or Mr. Belding too – I don’t care.

Your Turn!  Enter to win $500 in Cash!

Okay, so to refresh – here’s how to enter below.  Remember that you must leave a SEPARATE comment with each entry in it below for it to count!  If it’s not in the comments, with each entry separated out, you won’t be entered to win (this is how we’ll track your #’s)  You can get as many as 7 TOTAL entries – you choose the ones you want to do:

  • (1 entry): Tell us what’s on your Bucket List! Choose a few and then leave them in the comments below :)
  • (1 entry): TWEET about our Bucket List giveaway!  Just copy & send the following:
“I just entered to win $500 with @lifeinsurancef and @budgetsaresexy! Enter here: http://tinyurl.com/4xjvzr8”
  • (5 entries): BLOG about this Giveaway!  Post up YOUR Bucket List to your site – a NEW post, you can’t use an old one, sorry – either in text, or in pictures (that would be fun, eh?), and then make sure to mention you’re trying to win “the $500 Budgets are Sexy giveaway, sponsored by Life Insurance Finder” somewhere with both links & text fully included ;) Then drop the URL in the comments below and you’re all set!

That’s it! The contest is open to *EVERYONE* out there – regardless of age or location (though you DO need a Paypal account in order to receive the money).  We’ll let the giveaway go for 3 full weeks, and then we’ll pick the lucky $500 winner randomly via Random.org. So make sure you’re all entered by midnight on Tuesday, October 4th.

GOOD LUCK!!!!  Looking forward to hearing all about your hopes & desires ;)  And even more so, helping you ACHIEVE them!  $500 has got to help you check off at *least* one of them on your list, right? Hurry up and enter!

—————
PS: I don’t get any money (or honey) for posting this up :(  Only you guys can win!
PPS: But you are correct, it does make me look good ;)

***UPDATE*** Make sure to include all text/links for those who are blogging about it! All posts also have to be NEW, sorry – they won’t count otherwise (even though they’re still cool! ;))

***UPDATE AGAIN*** Don’t leave 5 comments for your blog post entry — I’ll be sure to count them as 5 entries, you don’t need to comment 5 times for them. Sorry for the confusion!

***WINNER HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!***  Click here to find out who the proud owner of $500 is! ;)

Well I hadn’t really thought of it, but now that you mention it, meeting Mr. Belding is probably at the top of my bucket list.

After that, becoming self employed with a good amount of passive income is my next item, because if I can accomplish that, there’s nothing on a bucket list I couldn’t accomplish (as long as Mr. Belding is still alive!)

    2. Sail around the caribbean with the family on a small sail boat. First have to learn how to sail or make friends with someone who can sail. Screw an effing cruise with old people.

I thought I had my bucket list complete…but then I read some entries here, and need to update it! La Tomatina tomato fight for example – I hadn’t thought of it, but now I need to add it. So many things, and so little time!

    A few things:
    1. Visit every state (US) , every province and territory (Canada). Not just drive through, but a real multiple places with lots of time spent in each visit. I’m getting there, but still there are more to go.
    2. Spend time in Greece. Although I want to see all of the world (and have seen much) Greece calls to me for reasons I don’t know. But I must scratch that itch some day.
    3. Ride in a hot-air balloon.
    4. Learn to play the piano. Even just one piece (other than ‘Chopsticks’) well played would mean so much to me.

My bucket list (in no particular order):

    1) Take a cross country road trip! I want to do it right too. No fancy hotels. I want to see the towns I visit, eat in the local dives, and really enjoy all that the countryside has to offer! Of course, a trip like this would take FOREVER, so who knows when I’ll make time to do it…

    2) Live debt free! I have $9,600 in student loans left, and that $500 would actually help me get closer to this one. ;)

    3) Skydive. (What can I say? I love adrenaline rushes!)

    Wow….

    1. Speak in front of a HUGE crowd of people–thousands at least. A stadium full would be even better! This isn’t on TV to thousands, but thousands in a LIVE audience in front of me. (Yep, I know I’m crazy!!!)

    2. Publish several best selling books with all the press, book tours, blogging and promos that come with it–TV appearances would be a bonus!

    3. Take my ENTIRE family on a destination vacation to a semi-private island and smother them in decadence–massages, catered meals, excursions, sandy beaches (cuz my entire family would NEVER do this if I didn’t ‘force it on em’!

    4. This should be at the top of mine–pay off all my debts AND my mother’s (she doesn’t have many left–car, small loan) and build her an allergy-proof home! (She lives in a little cabin now because of severe formaldehyde allergies.)

    5. Build my own ‘dream’ home (it’s rather small and unconventional–straw bale house!) and buy a new-to-me GREAT running vehicle!

    1) Write a book – I have been drafting outlines and doing some writing for the last three years but I’ve never completed my book.

    2) Experience a breath-taking sight – One day, I want to stand and look out over some part of God’s natural creation and have my breath taken away.

    3) Play in the World Series of Poker – I, too, would love a shot at the WSOP Main Event.

    4) Die happy – Regardless of when my time comes, I want to leave with a smile on my face.

-Visit Ireland. It’s such a beautiful country, and the people there seem so kind!
-Perform in a foreign country. I’m a theatre-person, and I’d love to perform somewhere where the theatre world is completely different from my own.
-Fall hopelessly, mercilessly in love, and have them love me back the same way. I think this one speaks for itself.
-Invent a zero-calorie chocolate milkshake. ‘Cause seriously, it’s not fair for something SO GOOD to be SO BAD for you.
-Feel like I’ve truly put my all into every project, whatever it may be.

    1) I want another professional production of a play that I’ve written.
    2) I’d like my Ph.D. in theatre (because I like to put effort into things that do not result in more money).
    3) I want to be a father (I’m hoping for a little girl, but I would not be unhappy with a boy).
    4) I want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with my dad and brothers.

I already tweeted and added some of the crazy things from my list… But I wasted to say that after losing my dad in a hospice this year, hospices are very close to my heart. Earlier this year, I raised almost $2400 for Dads hospice by doing a charity sky dive from 13,000 feet.

I am hoping to do an ambitious organised charity cycle from Cambodia to Vietnam (about 700km) to raise money for the chestnut tree CHILDREN’S HOSPICE. They have 10 beds, but are having to keep 5 shut due to being underfunded! if I win, I promise to put it as a sponsorship pledge from your blog towards a sponsored event hopefully this one, but if not-something else ambitious for the Chestnut Tree Childrens hospice, with a goal of raising 10 times as much, and hopefully creating enough awareness so that others might also help the very deserving cause.

I would also blog about it, and backlink to your site from all of my social sites.

    Yours hopefully

    Emma
