What Kind of Financial Superhero are You?

guns guns guns!
Sometimes I like to take silly quizzes when I’m bored.
Especially the ones which try to figure out the essence of your being. I like them because you already know all the answers! It’s like acing the test of YOU :)  And who knows YOU more than you do? (I do! Wait, what?)

Today I was fortunate enough to find a quiz such as that, only having to do with money. Which was kind of a life saver considering a) I was plum outta ideas to blog about, and b) I’ve always wondered what kind of superhero I’d be. (Although not sure this is one I’d be posting around on Facebook, if you catch my drift)

So today I present to you, the What Kind of Financial Superhero Are You quiz by the kids at LendingTree. 11 super easy questions with one fat prize at the end:  A look into your financial psyche. Here was my favorite of the questions:

Last month, the bulk of your purchases involved:
— Things I never knew I wanted.
— Food, gas and groceries.
— Stocks, bonds, investment properties, etc.
— A swipe of my credit card.

That first one cracked me up :)  I used to always find things I never knew I wanted!  Groupon can help with that too… although I’m finding more and more how beneficial those daily sites can be when used right. But anyways, here’s what my results said about me – the new Mr. Green Machine:

“You’ve got cash projections that even the Trumps would admire, and you know how to find the best price on almost anything. Monikers like, ‘Frugal,’ ‘Fiscally Conservative,’ and ‘Tight- Fisted’ are not beneath you, and you feel confident about where you’ll be financially when the car breaks down or you’re ready to retire.”

Haha… You hear that Donald? I’m coming for you on the next Apprentice! Which is one of my all-time fave shows, btw. That Ivanka is hot smart! And it’s coming back soon too. My boy Lil Jon’s gonna be all kinds of biznass like up in thurr, I’m pretty excited!  His trademark Whaaaat’s and Okaaaaaaay’s were starting to fade from popularity making me quite sad…

But enough about my ramblings — get out there and take the quiz.  I want to see if you learn anything about yourself today, or if you already knew you were a Budgeting Bad A$$. Or, if you prefer, you can take your chances & click this randomly generated old post of mine instead. 50/50 chance it’ll be cooler.

    Thanks for the quiz…that was fun. I am “Sitting Pretty”…the female equivalent to you based on the description.

    Lol, sweet quiz. I got Green machine too! Although it describes me perfectly, the description is kind of boring! I’m all about enjoying my hard earned money though. Once in a while, I like to treat myself. But, then I feel guilty and save save save to make up for the spending that just happened, does that make me crazy or what!

    Mine is kind of silly. “Sitting Pretty.” I mean it’s good and all, but what kind of heroine name is that?!?

  4. Catherine February 23, 2011 at 11:17 AM

    I am Bling Bling LOL!

  5. J. Money February 23, 2011 at 12:44 PM

    @Kaye – Are you saying I’m pretty? :)
    @Jon the Saver – I think that makes you smart. But then again, we’re exactly the same ;)
    @CityFlips – Kinda makes you lazy sounding, huh?
    @Catherine – now THAT is a superhero! haha… love it.

    Meh, I didn’t like some of the answers. I don’t use my credit cards and I DO NOT enjoy shopping – so I picked whatever for those answers and got “Sitting Pretty”. Which is funny, because I am NOT prepared to fix my car (the service light kicked on today – erp!) or to retire. I certainly don’t need this:

    “Spending money helps to build credit which can, in turn, help you when it comes time to purchase big ticket items like a home or an automobile.”

    I have a house, thank you. I closed on my refi on Monday, in fact, and dropped down to a 20 year mortgage and dropped 2%. I don’t need to improve my credit score (775, booyah!), and the biggest thing I’ll need to get is either a new (used) car or get mine fixed.

    The quiz is cute and fun, but I came out as Sitting Pretty too. Didn’t know I had to be pretty in order to be a financial superhero. Reminds me of an article I read the other day about how ugly people make less money.

    This should help with the superhero names :) http://www.quizopolis.com/superhero_name.php

    I am the wild enigma lol.

    Green Machine here too. Only “tight-fisted” to knock the crap out of this variable rate student loan debt!

  9. Becky February 23, 2011 at 2:34 PM

    Damn, I’m Bling Bling — but only because they didn’t have an option for “I try to NOT use my credit card for ANYTHING!”

    It’s too simplistic. There need to be another level above the green machine. ;)

    Becky,

    I’m Bling Bling as well. I’m working on changing this.
    I really don’t think I spend that much, but I don’t really track what I am spending. Definitely not balling like it seems to say I am.

    Sittin’ Pretty over here (speaking financially, not literally, especially with this baby bump stickin’ out in front of me)!!! I almost feel like it shouldn’t be any other way, since I have access to financial advice literally everyday, if I wanted it…

    Thanks for posting this, J! It was fun!

    What a fun quiz! I tried it out and I got ‘Sitting Pretty’. Yea; we purchased a home within our budget last year, so we’re doing pretty good.

    No Fun – I was Bling Bling……but the descriptiion is certainly NOT me. I have a bugdet, know where my money is going, no flashy wardrobe or noticeable car.

  15. J. Money February 28, 2011 at 11:40 AM

    @JennyDee – 775! That’s hotness, well done :)
    @LB – Haha… I’m “The Daring Scarab” whatever that means :)
    @slug – Yeah, GREAT plan for sure.
    @Becky – I know, I wish there were more options… guess then it would be too long for people to want to try out?
    @retirebyforty – agreed ;)
    @Lauryn – You should try tracking your spending for 1 month and see what happens :) I was pretty shocked at what I found!
    @Trinnie S – Baby time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    @Elle – Well done my friend :) We purchased ours OUT of budget years ago, so you win!
    @Nicky T. – At least you sound cool, haha…

    My super powers are to save every Pennie when I can , Avoid fast food at all costs, but its one of my biggest weakness’s. Never use a credit card again, use my prepaid ones i use. Soon if my banks start adding more fee’s Ill disassociate my self with them.
