Merry Christmas Eve, Friends!
Before you set off on your fun-filled weekend of spoiling one another with presents and delicious meals… check out this video about what kids really want for Christmas.
This 2-min video came out ~5 years ago, so some of you may have seen it already. It’s called “The Other Letter”, made by IKEA Spain.
**Fair warning: Get a box of tissues ready! I bawled my eyes out – and I’m not even a parent yet!**
In the video they used 10 families for an experiment…
First, they asked the children to write a letter to Santa Claus listing all the things they wanted for Christmas. The kids listed big items like guitars, pianos, and toys… typical big presents that most children want at Christmastime.
Next, the children were asked to write a second letter… This time, to their parents. Same as the Santa letter, but this time they were asking what they would want from their parents for Christmas. And this is where the kids’ answers got really interesting.
For the most part, kids just want love, time and attention. They want you to be there for them, experience things with them, and play with them.
Presents are great. But spending quality time with family is the most precious thing in the world.
Let’s not forget that this weekend. :)
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas,
Love, Joel

What a beautiful video. This year my oldest told us he didn’t want anything for Christmas. He’s ten and slowly outgrowing traditional toys. On Christmas Day he will find a basketball hoop in the driveway. It’s a toy for the whole family. With it we can go out, shoot hoops, and make memories together.
GREAT gift!!! And what a sweet thing for a 10 year old to say. Merry Christmas!!
Wow, just wow!
Great video. Thank you! Made me cry too.
