So, what does an iphone have to do with saving money? A lot if you are nifty with finding great applications. There is a new iPhone application from Garage Sale Tracker that allows users to find all the local flea markets, consignment stores, and yard sales that will even populate a google map with driving directions to any of these budget savvy shopping locales. (Editor’s note: I actually tried this out last year – it’s pretty cool :))
Driving all around town looking for sale signs with arrows hung on the wrong sign post or tree can be extremely annoying – so why not give it a shot? The deals at these weekend sales can save you thousands of dollars in the long run between toys, clothes, and furniture.

This is a great idea. While in the ‘old days’ we had to actually read the classifieds, then get our trusty maps out and find the locations and plan a route. All the work is done for us. Now all we need is for each sale to be able to log onto a website, show pictures of their wares and then we won’t even have to waste the time driving around only to find they had nothing we wanted anyway. Hey, now there’s a idea…hm…..
Wow – thanks for this post. I hadn’t heard of this site yet. While I don’t have an iPhone, I do have a yard sale planned for this summer and see that I can post it here for free. Then everyone with an iPhone and this app can come buy all of our stuff!!!
Haha, yup! Most definitely put it up on Craigslist as that’s always a great spot to promote it. I used to use it first before this app ;) That’s technology for ya.
