A short list of things that make me just as happy in life:
- I’m just as happy… going for walks as I am to the movies
- I’m just as happy… wearing used clothes as I am new clothes
- I’m just as happy… eating pb&js as I am going to restaurants
- I’m just as happy… going to a friend’s house as I am a concert
- I’m just as happy… drinking beer at home as I am at the bar
- I’m just as happy… having a staycation as I am a vacation
- I’m just as happy… working on passion projects as I am commercial projects
- I’m just as happy… cutting my own hair as I am hitting the barber
- I’m just as happy… visiting the library as I am the coin shop
- I’m just as happy… spending money on someone else as I am on myself
All things I do throughout the year on both sides, but being aware of this equality has amplified both my finances and my confidence…
It’s empowering to know you’re just as happy not paying for stuff as you are paying for it! All the while retaining the same quality of life!

I’m just as happy… going to an AA meeting than going to a bar with friends
I’m just as happy… having a homemade coffee in bed with my husband and dog than going to a hipster cafe
I’m just as happy… going to my $5 local cinema than a fancy one in town
I’m just as happy… listening to a podcast than going to the theatre
I’m just as happy… shopping at my local budget supermarket than going to Wholefoods
I’m just as happy… in Chinatown than a Michelin star restaurant
I’m just as happy… going to the park with a friend to walk our dogs than having a luxe spa day
I’m I’m really happy that I can occasionally splash out on something fancy and not feel guilty because I’ve saved up and planned and it’s something I really love!

Need to try that coffee in bed idea too! Can’t say I’ve ever done that?!
Last week I randomly started drinking BEER in bed while watching The Bachelor with my wife at night, so that was a new one for me, haha… Maybe coffee would be just as fun?

I’m just HAPPY…when I take a walk and find change on the ground!
Finding change is more exciting than even getting a paycheck, right??? :)

I’m just as happy…. decluttering unneeded stuff in the house than going shopping during sales season just because it’s sales season
I’m just as happy…. travelling to cheaper underrated destinations with little tourism than expensive highly recommended destinations with lots of tourists
I’m just as happy…. staying on an simple Airbnb than a expensive hotel
I’m just as happy…. having friends over for dinner than all of us eating out
I’m just as happy…. doing regular exercise at home than paying for a gym
I’m just as happy…. going for walks wandering around unknown neighbourhoods near me than only waiting for me to be travelling abroad to do that
I’m just as happy…. enjoying the hammock in my sunny balcony at home than paying for an escape hotel retreat
I’m just as happy…. eating own-brand tasting desserts than going out for that same dessert
I’m just as happy…. spending holidays at home than going abroad for holidays
