How I Feel About Black Friday [in Gifs]

Two days away from Rebecca Black Friday! How excited are YOU? Are you totally getting out your map right now to plan out the whole thing? Gonna stay up all night after Thanksgiving dinner and get ready for the awesomeness? No? You’re gonna start *tonight* and skip out on T-Day altogether? Wow, you sir (madam?) are hardcore.

As a financial blogger, I’m required to write about Black Friday or I’ll get shunned. So I thought I’d just show you how I feel about shopping then instead and call it a day. I’ve used up all my brain power comparing it to sex last time and running out of ideas ;) Please to enjoy:

lol awesome. My experience has only been negative, but I can’t argue with those gifs!

  3. Debt BLAG November 27, 2013 at 9:30 AM

Ha. I like the GIFs. I’ve bought exactly 0 things in stores in my lifetime on black Fridays. There’s just something about the crowds that seems like it would be unnecessarily stressful.

Oh man, I used to go alllllll the freakin’ time back in the day. When I loved spending money and didn’t care about net worths! Haha… cuz I’d always go out to shop for others, but ended up buying stuff for me 99% of the time ;) Not anymore!

I refuse to leave the house on Black Friday for so many reasons. And I think you just won the PF blogosphere.

Awesome…made me laugh. I’d rather end up spending more on Christmas presents than face the insanity that is Black Friday. I know…terrible of a personal finance blogger to say.

Hah! That would be an interesting poll actually for pf bloggers – I bet you wouldn’t be the only one :)

  8. Rich November 27, 2013 at 12:36 PM

Ha! Totally agree. With so many online deals available, why bother leaving the house??

  9. miranda@beyondworklifebalance.com November 27, 2013 at 12:54 PM

I hate shopping. hate, hate, hate it. I have never been one of these women who “bonds” with other women at the mall. Get in and out of a store, with laser-like precision is my motto. Then I discovered online shopping. Better. But paying for shipping charges. Hate, hate, hate it. (I’ve found all sorts of ways around that with online coupon codes). Shopping in a bricks and mortar store on Black Friday sounds just only just a bit better than being strung up by your fingernails. BUT…

…the cyber-Monday, online Black Friday deals have been so fantastic this year, that I am done with all my holiday shopping before Thanksgiving, came in about 25% under budget and no crammed mall parking lots. My entire family of origin is born in December, too. Got all their birthday gifts. This year, for the first time I might actually get to enjoy the season — might take my kid to see the holiday lights, might actually enjoy wrapping, might actually go Christmas Caroling, and can’t wait to curl up next to a roaring fire in the fireplace with a novel, hot cocoa, or glass of wine. Sheer Heaven. Bring it on!
PS Your videos made me laugh!

Work it, sister! You are on a roll – I love it. An very jealous I might add too, considering I still haven’t picked up a single present for anyone yet ;) Glad you liked the post!

I’m going to insist my crew dresses like the Kia commercial hamsters and we’ll walk around blasting music and head bopping. I shall be shunned for actually go Black Friday shopping, but hate on haters!

Got one word for ya: Snort!

  12. Brit November 27, 2013 at 2:01 PM

Oh Black Friday, the memories. One year I opened the doors and ran for my life. The next year I was pinned between the doors and had to wait about 45 minutes until the crowd get inside of the store. Good times! LOL

    1. J. Money December 2, 2013 at 11:12 AM

Yuck! From what I saw in the news, this year wasn’t all that safe either, ugh…

  13. Michelle November 27, 2013 at 2:11 PM

Haha love this. I’m not a fan of Black Friday. I’d rather just relax.

  14. Andrew@LivingRichCheaply November 27, 2013 at 3:23 PM

Hilarious! Happy Thanksgiving. I’ll be sleeping in on Black Friday.

  15. tnspr569 November 27, 2013 at 8:04 PM

J – can we PLEASE have more of these GIF-based posts once in a while? Not to devolve the site into a listicle repository, but this was hysterical! Possible topics include investment trends, current financial events, etc.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. Only doing online shopping here, unless one of the local office stores has a great deal on an item on my list. Those office stores have never been crowded in my experience.

    1. J. Money December 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did :) Sure, we can do more! I’ll start brainstorming up the next one… hope you had a blessed weekend over there.

  16. Izzye G November 27, 2013 at 9:18 PM

I hate black Friday, cant understand the madness… With the exception of a few “bait items” Given a couple of weeks items that were on sale will be on sale at same a deeper discount price. I did it once and completely regret it.. Never, Never, Never again.

  17. Michelle @fitisthenewpoor November 29, 2013 at 12:27 PM

This is giggle-inducing and awesome. Thanks for putting it together.

    1. J. Money December 2, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Glad it induced something good and not bad :)

  18. Natalie November 30, 2013 at 4:20 PM

Sooo good, as I read this I was wondering what exactly you typed into the Google to get such awesome gifs.

    1. J. Money December 2, 2013 at 11:16 AM

Haha… you’d never guess it, but it literally took me 2 hours to find clips I liked a lot.. and then I kept switching up the storyline as I came across others I thought were even better ;) Yet, it takes like 3.6 seconds to “read” haha… I had a blast though.
