My last switch to save a buck was my internet provider. I transferred to the new provider because they offered the first 6 months of unlimited data absolutely free with a very reasonable (and cheaper) monthly rate thereafter.
We combined our car insurance and switched providers. We’re saving $400 this year!
While I’d love a shredder for my documents, I don’t pay for shredding so Savings Analyzer got very confused by my input =)
The last switch I made to save money was cancel our parking lease. It was up anyway, and that will save the BF and I $100 ($50 each). I’ll also be canceling my gym membership in December, when it’s up, so I’ll save another $40!
I added a telephone to my internet and cable bill and saved $30 a month. Not sure how that worked out for Comcast, but now I have a home phone for free and $30 extra in my pocket :) Plus they upgraded my modem/router so I was able to sell my old router.

According to the analyzer I could save about 71%, sweet :) The last switch we’ve made has been with cell phone providers – we moved over to Sprint for a competitive rate and better service.
98% Savings, the last thing i did to save money was DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECKED budget and realized that if i put monthly expenses on my credit card and paid them off monthly, i get 1% cash back. Which i put towards the principal of the house.
We just saved $52 a month on our cell phones and upgraded to a better plan. Then I called our cable provider and saved $20! It pays to call!

The last financial switch I made was asking for an adjustment in my work hours, so that my husband and I could commute to work together. We save gas money ($50 to $100 a week) and wear and tear on one vehicle. We also get to have a few minutes to chat before we start our day.

Oh gosh. What haven’t I done to save money lately?! I would say our biggest and most recent savings is switching all the insurance (auto and home) over to USAA after we got married (I already had my car with USAA) for a savings of around $200/month.
Two big things we did to save money recently were switching to cash envelope budgeting and cutting cable!
I switched my magazine subscriptions this autumn. Trimmed a few and added cheaper alternatives.
I’m about to close on a refinance that reduces the terms of my mortgage from 4.25% to 2.75%. By switching loan providers/terms, I will save a significant amount of money.
The last switch I did was switching from a Cable TV+Internet package to Cable internet+ netflix. I watch the new shows on the stations websites and the old ones on Netflix. I went from $140 a month to $70 a month for essentially the same service, which is now 100% on demand as opposed to prescribed times. Love it!

I am about to switch to a pre-paid phone to get out of my current $56/month plan with T-Mobile. Wish me luck! The last switch that we made was from Farmer’s Insurance to Country Financial (all of our policies).
Amazingly, we saved nearly $2,000 a year on our rental property, about $500 each on both autos, and on our primary homeowners policy, we saved about $300, netting out to a cool $3300. On TOP of that, we received all of the extra money we had paid in to our policies in the form of 4 separate checks! Once we paid the new premiums, we still had over $2000 left!
The one thing I will say is to CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICIES! Our policies were great and very budget-friendly when we bought them 6 years ago, but over time, they started to nickel and dime the increases (I presume so consumers don’t notice — just like we didn’t notice).
Regardless – best financial move I’ve made in a LONG time.
The last switch I made was vanpooling instead of driving to work. My commuting costs went down from around $325 to about $140, a $185/month savings. Woohoo! I now also get to nap for an extra 2 hours a day :). Can’t put a price on that.

The most recent switch I made to save money was on my car insurance. The old company wanted to increase my monthly payment by $28 a month from one 6 month period to the next. Excuse me, but hasn’t the value gone DOWN as I’ve driven the car, and thus insuring it should be cheaper?? The last “switch” I made was automating my savings. I upped my 401K contributions and set up auto-transfers so I didn’t have to think about it anymore! It’s amazing to watch the savings grow. And I feel more in control of my finances, oddly enough!

We switched our individual cell phones to a family plan – so much cheaper!
I live by myself and was shelling out $150 a month for internet and cable, absurd! It wasn’t worth it to me so I cut out the cable and now pay just $50 for internet (which is still kind of a lot in my opinion) and $14 for hulu and netflix. AND about a month ago, I tried plugging my cable into the TV just to see. All of a sudden, I’m getting 100+ channels FO FREE! And the local stations are HD, score!

It’s not about what you are doing wrong, it is what you want from your cell phone. I use prepay minutes, free apps, and wifi. This can be done with almost any newer phone or used phone in my case, which is a whole other savings story too. :) This saves me so much money, that most of the time I randomly call people just so I can use my minutes lol.
I switched from a monthly cell phone plan to a pay-as-you go plan. Easily saved $200 or so a year.

The last big switch my household made was to get rid of cable completely. We have the $8 a month Netflix instant, but that is it and to be honest, it’s not that bad! I switched from dry cleaning some of my delicate clothing items to washing them by hand, and using a steamer at home. The cost of the handheld steamer would only have gotten me a month or two of dry cleaning, and I’ve saved at least triple that since making the switch. I wear a suit every day (and can’t wear the same thing more than once a week, even though I wish I could), so these savings have stacked up fast!
I review our cell services once a year to make sure we are on the best plan. We saved $25 a month last year from the switch.

The last switch we did to save money was switch from AT&T phone service to Comcast as we already had them for cable and internet so we got the triple play package.

We’ve saved about $100 a month by switching electric companies! We also switched from satellite to Hulu and Netflix…another $75 per mo :)
I got rid of cable and the land-line, as I found it redundant having a cell phone as well.

I recently ‘switched’ my cable service by calling and telling them I wanted a cheaper bill. They did it without removing any of my services. Win!

Last thing we did to MAJORLY save money was consolidate homeowner’s and auto insurance!
77% savings – hmm! (I ran it for the office in which I work part-time, thankfully our main document storage is virtual, except for what fits in one folder in my filing bin!)
