    ooh I’d save 99% :)

  2. Pauline October 17, 2012 at 6:02 AM

I would save 88%! Last switch was electricity about 6 months ago.

  3. Lukas Pleva October 17, 2012 at 6:22 AM

We switched from shopping at a local supermarket to shopping at national chains (e.g. Target, CVS, Walgreen, etc.) I am a big supporter of the “Buy Local” movement, but man, those coupon and reward savings really add up!

  4. Lukas Pleva October 17, 2012 at 6:27 AM

I sent out a tweet encouraging people to visit the website on 10/17. You can verify by reviewing my list of tweets here:

  5. Lukas Pleva October 17, 2012 at 6:29 AM

Based on my results, I could save up to 100% if I switched to in-house document storage.

  6. Mark October 17, 2012 at 7:05 AM

    woohoo, I’d save 98%!

  7. Mark October 17, 2012 at 7:06 AM

My last switch was my cable bill, got rid of the tv portion and switched to hulu.

  8. Cody October 17, 2012 at 7:21 AM

My last switch to save a buck was my internet provider. I transferred to the new provider because they offered the first 6 months of unlimited data absolutely free with a very reasonable (and cheaper) monthly rate thereafter.

  9. Kelly October 17, 2012 at 7:24 AM

We combined our car insurance and switched providers. We’re saving $400 this year!

  10. graduate.living October 17, 2012 at 7:36 AM

While I’d love a shredder for my documents, I don’t pay for shredding so Savings Analyzer got very confused by my input =)

The last switch I made to save money was cancel our parking lease. It was up anyway, and that will save the BF and I $100 ($50 each). I’ll also be canceling my gym membership in December, when it’s up, so I’ll save another $40!

  11. Barb October 17, 2012 at 7:39 AM

I added a telephone to my internet and cable bill and saved $30 a month. Not sure how that worked out for Comcast, but now I have a home phone for free and $30 extra in my pocket :) Plus they upgraded my modem/router so I was able to sell my old router.

  12. Elle October 17, 2012 at 7:45 AM

Awesome contest! I tweeted and shared the savings tool on FB. :https://twitter.com/Elle_CM/status/258533197082660864

According to the analyzer I could save about 71%, sweet :) The last switch we’ve made has been with cell phone providers – we moved over to Sprint for a competitive rate and better service.

  13. T$ October 17, 2012 at 7:47 AM

98% Savings, the last thing i did to save money was DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECKED budget and realized that if i put monthly expenses on my credit card and paid them off monthly, i get 1% cash back. Which i put towards the principal of the house.

  14. C. Geiger October 17, 2012 at 7:56 AM

We just saved $52 a month on our cell phones and upgraded to a better plan. Then I called our cable provider and saved $20! It pays to call!

  15. Mary October 17, 2012 at 7:57 AM

We switched from satellite to Hulu/Netflix and it’s beautiful, just beautiful…

  16. C. Geiger October 17, 2012 at 7:57 AM

We’d save 83% if we switched! Cool tool!

  17. Jacqueline S October 17, 2012 at 8:00 AM

The last financial switch I made was asking for an adjustment in my work hours, so that my husband and I could commute to work together. We save gas money ($50 to $100 a week) and wear and tear on one vehicle. We also get to have a few minutes to chat before we start our day.

  18. Jacqueline S October 17, 2012 at 8:03 AM

The Savings Analyzer has found that I can save on average 73%. Not bad.

  19. Renee S October 17, 2012 at 8:07 AM

It says I can save an average of 31%!

  20. Renee S October 17, 2012 at 8:08 AM

The most recent financial switch I made was getting rid of cable and opting for the roku player with my netflix instant stream. It’s awesome!

  21. Renee S October 17, 2012 at 8:09 AM

I facebooked about the analyzer tool!

  22. Katie lake October 17, 2012 at 8:18 AM

Oh gosh. What haven’t I done to save money lately?! I would say our biggest and most recent savings is switching all the insurance (auto and home) over to USAA after we got married (I already had my car with USAA) for a savings of around $200/month.

  23. Jennifer October 17, 2012 at 8:21 AM

Two big things we did to save money recently were switching to cash envelope budgeting and cutting cable!

  24. Ted G. October 17, 2012 at 8:26 AM

I switched my magazine subscriptions this autumn. Trimmed a few and added cheaper alternatives.

  25. Matthew October 17, 2012 at 8:28 AM

I’m about to close on a refinance that reduces the terms of my mortgage from 4.25% to 2.75%. By switching loan providers/terms, I will save a significant amount of money.

  26. Justin October 17, 2012 at 8:35 AM

The last switch I did was switching from a Cable TV+Internet package to Cable internet+ netflix. I watch the new shows on the stations websites and the old ones on Netflix. I went from $140 a month to $70 a month for essentially the same service, which is now 100% on demand as opposed to prescribed times. Love it!

  27. Mina October 17, 2012 at 8:37 AM

Our most recent money saver was looking at our cable and internet package. We not only are saving $30/month but also got a $500 gift card from the provider

  28. HighOrderGuiltComplex October 17, 2012 at 8:38 AM

I am about to switch to a pre-paid phone to get out of my current $56/month plan with T-Mobile. Wish me luck! The last thing I did to save some dough was to persistantly (but politely) call a doctor’s office to get them to lower the bill. They had charged me for all kind of “legit” expenses and fees

  29. jay October 17, 2012 at 8:47 AM

I switched off the cable tv about a year ago to save money!!

  30. Sarah October 17, 2012 at 8:49 AM

I switched to Geico and saved something like $500/yr on car insurance! Also planning on switching to a pre-paid phone once my 2-year contract is up.

  31. Crystal H October 17, 2012 at 8:50 AM

I would save 31%. And I saved money by calling FIOS to ask for the lates specials and packages or else I would switch and they offered me the current promotion they were running.

  32. Jessi October 17, 2012 at 8:59 AM

It says I can save on average 73% by managing my documents in-house!

  33. Jessi October 17, 2012 at 8:59 AM

We switched our cell phone plans recently and saved about $60 a month!

  34. James October 17, 2012 at 9:04 AM

Switched to a prepaid cell plan and saved a bunch.

  35. karmellas October 17, 2012 at 9:04 AM

Wow, 88%. <— that's too short a comment for wordpress!

  36. karmellas October 17, 2012 at 9:11 AM

I got really into “artisan” beef jerky (random, I know) which is damn expensive. I am in the process of switching to borrowing a dehydrator and using Alton Brown’s recipe to make my own.

  37. Michelle October 17, 2012 at 9:16 AM

    It says 99% for me!

  38. Michelle October 17, 2012 at 9:17 AM

I switched my cable bill and save around $20 per month :)

  39. Matt Madison October 17, 2012 at 9:19 AM

The last switch that we made was from Farmer’s Insurance to Country Financial (all of our policies).

Amazingly, we saved nearly $2,000 a year on our rental property, about $500 each on both autos, and on our primary homeowners policy, we saved about $300, netting out to a cool $3300. On TOP of that, we received all of the extra money we had paid in to our policies in the form of 4 separate checks! Once we paid the new premiums, we still had over $2000 left!

The one thing I will say is to CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICIES! Our policies were great and very budget-friendly when we bought them 6 years ago, but over time, they started to nickel and dime the increases (I presume so consumers don’t notice — just like we didn’t notice).

Regardless – best financial move I’ve made in a LONG time.

  40. nGneer October 17, 2012 at 9:25 AM

The last switch I made was vanpooling instead of driving to work. My commuting costs went down from around $325 to about $140, a $185/month savings. Woohoo! I now also get to nap for an extra 2 hours a day :). Can’t put a price on that.

  41. rubyruns24 October 17, 2012 at 9:27 AM

I switched grocery stores. No more fancy store with all of the temptations.

  42. nGneer October 17, 2012 at 9:29 AM

According to Savings Analyzer I would save 99% on document storage.

  43. Jon B October 17, 2012 at 9:35 AM

My last switch to save money was riding the bus instead of driving to work! Save $$ on gas and parking to the tune of $308/month!!!

  44. Jaclyn October 17, 2012 at 9:36 AM

I saved money by switching my cell phone from unlimited data to 4 gb. I’m hoping to save more by putting my cable and cell bill on one bill.

  45. Aaron October 17, 2012 at 9:43 AM

The most recent switch I made to save money was on my car insurance. The old company wanted to increase my monthly payment by $28 a month from one 6 month period to the next. Excuse me, but hasn’t the value gone DOWN as I’ve driven the car, and thus insuring it should be cheaper?? So I got 3 or 4 quotes that were all way cheaper for the same coverage and went with the cheapest!

  46. Jen R October 17, 2012 at 9:43 AM

Fellowes said I’d save 100%. Doesn’t that mean it would be free?

  47. Brian G October 17, 2012 at 9:44 AM

I would save 31% on document shredding.

  48. Jen R October 17, 2012 at 9:45 AM

I switched from riding public transportation to work to riding a bicycle to work; saves $4 a day!

  49. Brian G October 17, 2012 at 9:46 AM

Last switch I made was to carpooling to work. I’m saving about $200/month in gas now!

  50. Colleen October 17, 2012 at 9:53 AM

I decided not to get cable or internet when I moved.

  51. Craig October 17, 2012 at 9:55 AM

    Switched cable bills.

  52. Sue October 17, 2012 at 10:01 AM

We switched to running and workout videos to drop our gym membership bill!

  58. Jessi October 17, 2012 at 10:18 AM

The last switch we made was dropping our landline, which has saved about $40/month!

  59. Adam Hagerman October 17, 2012 at 10:20 AM

My wife and I switched from Comcast Business to Comcast Residential. It saved us about $50 per month. We had to get a new phone number but it was well worth the savings!

  60. Steph M October 17, 2012 at 10:23 AM

I switched cable companies to save $10 a month since Time Warner refused to lower the bill. $500 would be a great birthday present!!!

  61. Budget & the Beach October 17, 2012 at 10:31 AM

My last major switch was the gym. I traded that for free workouts on apps, and running.

  62. Laura Brown October 17, 2012 at 10:37 AM

We recently switched from one company with a bundle for TV, phone and internet to just phone and internet with them, and TV through another company. We’re saving $100 a month!

  63. Zac October 17, 2012 at 10:45 AM

We changed car insurance companies and saved about $300 a year.

I dropped cable to save money

  67. Adrienne October 17, 2012 at 10:53 AM

When our bill went up with Time Warner I called and told them we wanted to cancel and go with their competitor. They dropped our bill by $20.00 and added some useful features.

  68. Alexa October 17, 2012 at 11:02 AM

    we cut the cable

  69. Beckey & Jeff October 17, 2012 at 11:14 AM

  70. Stan @DebtsnTaxes October 17, 2012 at 11:17 AM

The last switch we did to save money was when we refinanced our home in June. We ended up saving $336/month!

  71. Debtzilla October 17, 2012 at 11:17 AM

I switched off my internet and saved $24 a month. Just use my phone for everything.

    I tweeted your link @debtzilla

  72. Jen October 17, 2012 at 11:18 AM

Our last big switch was to drop DirecTV..saving us $60/mo. Now we get old-skool antenna TV! Total throwback to my childhood….. :) Worth every penny.

  73. Jenn October 17, 2012 at 11:19 AM

Dropped the land line and internet – $70/mo, then added a wi-fi hot spot onto the cell bill, +20/mo, so i’ve got an extra $50/mo to put towards something else.

  74. Kris October 17, 2012 at 11:19 AM

It said I would save 100%.

  75. Stephanie Phelps October 17, 2012 at 11:19 AM

  76. Alice @ EarningMyTwoCents October 17, 2012 at 11:20 AM

We cut the cable and switch cell phone plans.

  86. Dan October 17, 2012 at 11:24 AM

The last switch I made to save money (always a priority) was to lower my car insurance deductible from $100 – $500. I saved about $25 / month with USAA (I’ll NEVER leave ’em!)

  87. Ann October 17, 2012 at 11:24 AM

The last “switch” I made was automating my savings. I upped my 401K contributions and set up auto-transfers so I didn’t have to think about it anymore! It’s amazing to watch the savings grow. And I feel more in control of my finances, oddly enough!

  88. Alyssa N. October 17, 2012 at 11:26 AM

My last switch was to give up cable (and a tv) altogether. I thought it would painful, but I’m actually not missing it very much! I have so much time to do all those things I was planning to get to someday…

  89. Dan October 17, 2012 at 11:27 AM

Posted your direct quote to FB.

  90. Lindsee October 17, 2012 at 11:28 AM

The last switch i made was changing our cable plan. We saved about $40 a month and were given enough freebies that our channels haven’t changed at all!

  91. Mark October 17, 2012 at 11:29 AM

The last switch I made to save money was moving my cell phone plan from Verizon to T-Mobile.

  92. Samantha October 17, 2012 at 11:31 AM

At first I thought, woohoo 44%! But then scrolling thru the comments I guess that isn’t as impressive at 100%. lol!

  93. Dan October 17, 2012 at 11:32 AM

The last switch I made to save money was getting rid of our landline phone and using MagicJack – instead of spending $360/year on a seldom used home phone, were’ now spending $30/year!

  94. Samantha October 17, 2012 at 11:32 AM

This week, my husband dropped Verizon and switched to Page Plus. Should save us about $18/month… plus he’ll have (very limited) data now, too. I didn’t switch because I use too many minutes. :)

  95. Samantha October 17, 2012 at 11:36 AM

    I put it on Facebook!

  96. Kelsey October 17, 2012 at 11:37 AM

Mine says I’d save on average 31%. That’s pretty significant. A few months ago the hubs and I switched from DirecTV to a local cable company. It’s not as fancy or easy to use, but we are saving over 33% so we are going to keep it for at least a year.

  97. Salvatore October 17, 2012 at 11:39 AM

    I would save 73%!

  98. beskeie October 17, 2012 at 11:40 AM

I switched to the envelope system to save $$…. and it works!

  101. Fern October 17, 2012 at 11:42 AM

I got a 91% savings. But I suppose that’s skewed since not all our storage is ‘documents’ – we store hardware, too. So it’s not clear how that applies.

  102. beskeie October 17, 2012 at 11:42 AM

my last switch was on insurance providers. saved over $500 by shopping around.

  103. Fern October 17, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Due to serious financial crap, our latest switch was switching my husband from real orange juice (from concentrate, we’d switched from the premium earlier) to Tang. Saves us 75% of the cost per week, and he doesn’t have to change his habit.

  104. Julian October 17, 2012 at 11:46 AM

I switched from unlimited texts with Verizon to 1000 a month. Saving $10 every single month now!

  105. Fern October 17, 2012 at 11:46 AM

And I tweeted it, as @FernWise

  106. wayne October 17, 2012 at 11:47 AM

We moved closer to my husband’s job, and it’s a good time to save a bit on gas.

  111. Shannon Walsh October 17, 2012 at 11:53 AM

99% – crazy! What a great tool for planning.

  112. jefferson @SeeDebtRun October 17, 2012 at 11:54 AM

i ran through the sample and would save 99%, using the tool.. very rad :)

  113. Shannon W October 17, 2012 at 11:54 AM

Switched cable providers and stopped my DVR/Tivo – significant savings per month. One of the best things I’ve done for my budget this year.

  114. jefferson @SeeDebtRun October 17, 2012 at 11:55 AM

    Posted on Facebook

  117. Veronica October 17, 2012 at 12:02 PM

We dropped cable and added hulu. Best. Idea. Ever. Now we watch TV/movies via Netflix, Hulu Plus and a digital antenna for a total of <$30/month. We were paying $100/month for cable on top of Netflix.

My most recent save was finding unsecured wi-fi in my apartment building. I’m saving $40 a month on internet! Judge me if you will :).

  119. Christopher October 17, 2012 at 12:07 PM

My wife and I bid adieu to cable television.

  120. Christopher October 17, 2012 at 12:08 PM

I got 88% on storage of documents.

  121. garryo October 17, 2012 at 12:12 PM

we dropped cable and dont miss it for a minute.

  122. Megan October 17, 2012 at 12:13 PM

The last switch I made was to get a deal on internet for only 19.99 a month for 6 months. I’m saving about $20/month.

  123. Jan October 17, 2012 at 12:23 PM

It says I could save 93% on document shredding!

  124. Jan October 17, 2012 at 12:23 PM

The last switch I did was changing my cellphone plan to one with less minutes since I don’t spend that much time talking on the phone anymore.

  125. KimD October 17, 2012 at 12:26 PM

    Quote has been tweeted

  126. KimD October 17, 2012 at 12:27 PM

    I switched to a different phone/internet provider – save about $20/month

  127. Melanie October 17, 2012 at 12:33 PM

My savings analyzer results were 44% (I used old numbers from my previous position… I don’t yet have the power to shred in my current role…).

  128. Melanie October 17, 2012 at 12:38 PM

The last SWITCH we did to save money will out my family geekdom – we went from a monthly subscription of World of Warcraft @ $16 a month, to a bi-annual subscription @ $76, saving us about $3 a month… yes, that’s only about forty bucks a year, but for a family of 4 on a single income, this is one of two perks we budget for and every little bit counts!

  129. Angella October 17, 2012 at 12:49 PM

I would save up to 99% on binding and laminating!

  130. Angella October 17, 2012 at 12:50 PM

The last switch I did to save money was our TV bill. Said goodbye to Uverse, hello to Direct TV and saved $80/mo. Hopefully next year I can say bye to Direct TV and hello to just Hulu and save another $80!

  131. Corie October 17, 2012 at 12:56 PM

The last switch we made was car insurance companies and we saved quite a bit of money. I can’t remember the exact amount but somewhere around $500 per year!

  132. Kelli October 17, 2012 at 12:58 PM

I would save 0% simply because I don’t currently have to pay for document storage or shredding.

  133. Kelli October 17, 2012 at 12:59 PM

The last money-saving switch I did was finally biting the bullet and cancelling cable TV. It’s saving me around $60/month!

  134. Kelli October 17, 2012 at 1:03 PM

Posted about the savings analyzer on FB (as Kelli Rolvaag).

  135. Michelle B October 17, 2012 at 1:09 PM

We would save 88% on storage.

  136. Georgie October 17, 2012 at 1:09 PM

I switched my life insurance and saved $50/month!

  137. Kevin Vesga October 17, 2012 at 1:10 PM

My dad recently downgraded our internet plan to save some money. Needless to say, I do miss the previous speed.

  138. Michelle B October 17, 2012 at 1:10 PM

I switched cable companies and save $100 a month.

  139. Julia October 17, 2012 at 1:20 PM

I’m in the process of a switch right now! Moving from AT&T to Airvoice on my cell phone. (Should save me about $60 a month)

  140. Holly B October 17, 2012 at 1:23 PM

We got rid of cable and now just watch on Hulu and Netflix. Not exactly a switch, but saves a lot of money and we barely miss cable.

  141. Holly B October 17, 2012 at 1:25 PM

The analyzer says I would save 0%, as my business isn’t large enough yet to require document storage or shredding

  142. E October 17, 2012 at 1:27 PM

    I’d save 31% at least…very helpful

  143. Caitlin October 17, 2012 at 1:34 PM

We switched our individual cell phones to a family plan – so much cheaper!

  144. Tina October 17, 2012 at 1:39 PM

I live by myself and was shelling out $150 a month for internet and cable, absurd! It wasn’t worth it to me so I cut out the cable and now pay just $50 for internet (which is still kind of a lot in my opinion) and $14 for hulu and netflix. AND about a month ago, I tried plugging my cable into the TV just to see. All of a sudden, I’m getting 100+ channels FO FREE! And the local stations are HD, score!

  145. Cordelia October 17, 2012 at 1:58 PM

My last money-saving switch was technically my husband’s – down to borrowing one Gamefly game at a time on his subscription instead of two. But since I’m the budget master who pays all the bills, I will claim that as my own! :P

  146. Rai October 17, 2012 at 1:59 PM

Last thing I did to save mega amounts of $$$$ was to have a friend watch my dog at my place, rather than taking her to a kennel. I’m in the process of relocating, and had to go out of town for the month of October. Savings of over $600, even with me paying her a few hundred to say THANKS !!!!

  147. Richard Hicks October 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM

says that I will save 87%

    brich22 at earthlink dot net

  148. Richard Hicks October 17, 2012 at 2:01 PM

Last switch for me was dropping at&t landline and going to OOMA which is web based and saved a ton of money

    brich22 at earthlink dot net

  149. PJ October 17, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Switched from uVerse TV to DirecTV…..saved about $60/mth for the next 2 years….plus Sunday Ticket for free

  150. PJ October 17, 2012 at 2:10 PM

And I would save about 23%

  151. LB @ Finanical Black Sheep October 17, 2012 at 2:23 PM

    I would save 88%!

  152. LB @ Finanical Black Sheep October 17, 2012 at 2:31 PM

Just switched my cell phone to a better carrier and saved a 3@#!-load I went from $195.24 for unlimited everything, to $12.50 per month with FREE texting, data, etc. That’s for 2 Droids on Verizon’s network BABY!

I just posted about this today on my website!!!! I win. lol

  153. Treasure October 17, 2012 at 2:53 PM

Last thing I did to save money was switch my insurance to Geico! They really do offer best prices for your car. I saved $200 on a 6 month policy. As a struggling college student, any amount helps!

  154. Thomas S. Moore October 17, 2012 at 2:54 PM

The last switch I made was going from driving to work to actually riding the train. Instead of paying $200 month in gas I now pay $75(company discount) and don’t have to worry about traffic.

@ LB – I’m with VZ and have two phone what the heck am I doing wrong I need to find out so I can lower my bill as well.

  155. Jewel October 17, 2012 at 2:55 PM

To save money, I got a second job during the evenings. When I had free time, I would go out with my friends and spend money. Now, my evenings and weekends are booked. It sucks that I can’t go out, but I have seen about a $1000 increase in income a month.

  156. crystal October 17, 2012 at 3:08 PM

it looks like i could save 31%

  157. Dave October 17, 2012 at 3:10 PM

Did the tweeting from ChivalryPro – and our money saver was a refi on our mortgage. Saved some big bucks that is helping us now!

  158. crystal October 17, 2012 at 3:10 PM

we saved money by switching from cable tv to netflix streaming and it’s been great!

  159. Laura October 17, 2012 at 3:19 PM

    I would save 48%!

  160. Laura October 17, 2012 at 3:20 PM

And I’m just not looking into refinancing my mortgage. It’s not bad, but I think we can do better…

p.s. I totally spelled email address incorrectly in my last post…. it’s right here.

  161. One Frugal Girl October 17, 2012 at 3:29 PM

The analyzer says I’d save 31%.

  163. Courtney October 17, 2012 at 3:30 PM

I dropped cable a few months ago and haven’t regretted it a bit! Adding Hulu Plus cut down on my savings, but I love not feeling like a slave to the DVR and having a few extra $$ in my budget.

  164. One Frugal Girl October 17, 2012 at 3:30 PM

We recently gave cable and Sirius satellite the boot. We also called our internet company and received a better rate!

  165. sue brandes October 17, 2012 at 3:33 PM

  173. LB @ Finanical Black Sheep October 17, 2012 at 4:24 PM

    Hi Thomas,

It’s not about what you are doing wrong, it is what you want from your cell phone. I use prepay minutes, free apps, and wifi. This can be done with almost any newer phone or used phone in my case, which is a whole other savings story too. :) This saves me so much money, that most of the time I randomly call people just so I can use my minutes lol.

  174. Ash (in US) October 17, 2012 at 4:26 PM

I switched from a monthly cell phone plan to a pay-as-you go plan. Easily saved $200 or so a year.

  175. doris October 17, 2012 at 4:26 PM

I’d save 73% if I did my laminating in house…. good deal!!!!!!!!!

  176. doris October 17, 2012 at 4:27 PM

My last switched was my cable bill a few months ago, woohoo!

  177. Kari October 17, 2012 at 4:27 PM

we downgraded our cable to basic for a while, not too horrible and we save a bunch each month.

  178. DB October 17, 2012 at 4:30 PM

“Our Savings Analyzer has found that you can save on average by managing your documents in-house.”
I think I broke it because I dont use services for any of the options! So I cant save any money as far as I can tell.

  179. Lori October 17, 2012 at 4:32 PM

we just switched cell phone provides and it cut my bill by a third.

  180. DB October 17, 2012 at 4:39 PM

Our Cell phones were switched to PagePlusCellular, keeping our paid for android phones, and moving to a provider on the verizon network that does prepay and doesnt require a data plan.

  181. DB October 17, 2012 at 4:43 PM

tweeted, but name is personally identifiable, so will provide proof if this is the winning entry/.

  182. TeacHer October 17, 2012 at 4:54 PM

I switched from shopping at Whole Foods to going to the “regular” grocery store for more of my day-to-day items. I LOVE Whole Foods, but it’s just too expensive :-/

  183. JB October 17, 2012 at 5:12 PM

    Nice, I can save 31%!

  184. JB October 17, 2012 at 5:13 PM

I switched to cooking in more and saved $200+ depending on the month

  185. Lynn October 17, 2012 at 5:45 PM

The last switch I did to save money was I refinanced my mortgage and kept the same payment but switched to a 20 yr loan. Will save interest in the long run

  186. Wright1 October 17, 2012 at 6:17 PM

My wife and I switched car insurance companies and we are saving right aroung $200.00 a year.

  187. Sue D October 17, 2012 at 6:19 PM

  188. Sue D October 17, 2012 at 6:20 PM

I am planning on getting rid of cable as soon as we switch to Netflix.

  189. kfloveinme October 17, 2012 at 7:13 PM

Last switch was calling the cable company and telling them that I’m switching to another service. Saved myself $30 a month. Also, I stopped buying lunch everyday and started to bring in my own. Major was stopped shopping! Now that was a big accomplishment! :)

  190. kfloveinme October 17, 2012 at 7:16 PM

    100% saving for me!

  191. Joyatee October 17, 2012 at 7:32 PM

The last big change I made to save $$ was to move!! I cut my rent cost to about 2/3 of what it was, and it’s definitely helping. The extra $500 would be a great addition.

We got rid of cable and are saving $80/mth.

  196. Teddi P October 17, 2012 at 7:57 PM

The last big switch my household made was to get rid of cable completely. We have the $8 a month Netflix instant, but that is it and to be honest, it’s not that bad! There is plenty to watch and we have really cut back on the amount we watch anyway and figured out some other things to do instead of wasting time (and money) on cable!

  197. Tina L October 17, 2012 at 8:00 PM

I got rid of cable and bought my own modem for the Internet and saved $65/month.

  198. Candy October 17, 2012 at 8:03 PM

Switched to a cable bundle that includes a phone line I’ll never use …I didn’t even buy a phone for it!

  199. Nina October 17, 2012 at 8:10 PM

    I cancelled my land-line phone!

  200. kim October 17, 2012 at 8:21 PM

We could save 93%?! That’s pretty good, I will have to look into it some more. It would be great to cut down that expense.

  201. kim October 17, 2012 at 8:23 PM

My switch has been more mindful spending, and more from Marshalls (got the Le Creuset I’ve been coveting for half off! which led to me cooking in more, and I’ve about paid for it in savings from that).

  202. Pam October 17, 2012 at 8:33 PM

  206. Kristin B. October 17, 2012 at 8:59 PM

Well, apparently I would save 31%. I don’t utilize many of these products on a daily/monthly basis tho.

  207. Kristin B. October 17, 2012 at 9:00 PM

The biggest savings I got from a recent switch was probably my new credit card. Of course, I opened another credit card, which may/may not be considered ‘good’, but due to my awesome credit, I got 12 months 0% AND they gave me 300$ cash back after 3 transactions! Yes, please!

  208. Crystal C October 17, 2012 at 9:22 PM

The last thing that I saved money on was my cable bill. I just called and asked for them to lower my bundle. And they did!

  209. Allison October 17, 2012 at 9:55 PM

I cut cable and use my Roku!

  211. chung October 17, 2012 at 10:49 PM

I shop around for my auto and home insurance and get a better deal.

  212. D October 17, 2012 at 11:02 PM

I always call the cable company every 6-12 months to adjust the bill…it can add up.

  213. Kellie Rose Wilson October 17, 2012 at 11:42 PM

    I would save 98%…

  224. Soo October 18, 2012 at 1:02 AM

Last switch to save money was getting rid of cable and just watching stuff on Netflix and internet.

  225. Chris October 18, 2012 at 2:12 AM

I asked for last year’s rate on my (increased) annual termite coverage bill and they gave it to me! Also, recently opened an online checking account with a good interest rate.

  226. Jenny C. October 18, 2012 at 4:53 AM

We just switched our car insurance from State Farm to Allstate. We’ll probably switch again if we can find a better deal.

  227. Adrienne gordon October 18, 2012 at 6:53 AM

  228. Margaret Smith October 18, 2012 at 7:19 AM

  233. nickie October 18, 2012 at 9:07 AM

My last switch was my cable bill, got rid of the tv portion and switched to netflix.

  234. TF October 18, 2012 at 9:14 AM

My switch was cutting the cord… saving big bucks.

  235. Elizabeth October 18, 2012 at 9:16 AM

I switched from dry cleaning some of my delicate clothing items to washing them by hand, and using a steamer at home. The cost of the handheld steamer would only have gotten me a month or two of dry cleaning, and I’ve saved at least triple that since making the switch. I wear a suit every day (and can’t wear the same thing more than once a week, even though I wish I could), so these savings have stacked up fast!

  236. Jill October 18, 2012 at 9:17 AM

I review our cell services once a year to make sure we are on the best plan. We saved $25 a month last year from the switch.

  237. Elizabeth October 18, 2012 at 9:17 AM

The savings analyzer found that I could save 95% on storage by managing documents in-house. I have about 50 boxes, so that’s significant!

  238. rlk October 18, 2012 at 9:22 AM

My latest switch to save money was cell phone providers. I went from a large, contract-based company to a pay-per-month company, and I’m saving ~$20 per month.

  239. gina October 18, 2012 at 9:45 AM

The last switch we made was little, we went from monthly paying car/motorcycle insurance to every 6 months.

  241. gina October 18, 2012 at 9:48 AM

  244. MB @ 12 Year Career October 18, 2012 at 10:07 AM

    I would save a whopping 31%… lol.

  246. Sarah R October 18, 2012 at 10:28 AM

I increased my car insurance deductible and reduced the coverage (was overcovering my used car).

  254. liz alcantara October 18, 2012 at 12:11 PM

I made the switch from cable to hulu plus so that I would still be able to watch my shows on my own time without the high cable expense bill.

  255. liz alcantara October 18, 2012 at 12:13 PM

I tweeted the phrase for saving money through savings analyzer.

  256. Ashley Leary October 18, 2012 at 1:01 PM

I switched my phone bill to unlimited everything since before it was basically the same price when I only had unlimited texting what a relief :)

  257. Christine October 18, 2012 at 1:07 PM

I switched online bank accounts! Which well…doesn’t save money but helps me make a tiny bit more on interest. If this on doesn’t count then, I switched the way I shop…from personal shopping to grocery shopping. Trying to only buy things on sale, buying quality items over items that will fail in a few months, and switching to store brand.
