Are you ready to go shopping? At a loss for gift ideas? Well look no further my friends, I’ve picked my brain for my favorite financial goodies out there and I’m leaking it out to the world ;)
If I were getting a gift from you, here are 10 things I’d be very very happy receiving. Even though I already own half of them! (They’re that awesome…well not “awesome” like an average person would consider, but def. the kind of people who’d be reading this right now ;))

1. I Will Teach You To Be Rich ($10.92)
By far the BEST book out there for the younger generation. It’s funny, educational, and just downright FUN to read. And a super easy read too – which anyone with A.D.D. can appreciate (like me!) :) And plus, Ramit is a fellow blogger! If I were to write a book, I’d want it to come out like this. |

2. Money Savvy Piggy ($16.99)
How cool is this?? I’m half-tempted to pick one up for myself! haha… I saw this on Financially Smitten’s Holiday Gift Guide and was awed within seconds. I love how easy it is to separate the categories! And happy to see “donate” being on there too – it’s something I wish I had learned more about as a kid. |

3. Savings Bonds ($25-$10,000)
This may bore you to death as a kid, but It’s an AWESOME gift nonetheless. It’s like giving cash, except it only costs you 1/2 as much and it teaches the giftee all about patience and accumulating worth! If you come across as grandpa so be it ;) At least it’ll help them out 20 years from now. |

4. The Millionaire Next Door ($11.32)
One of my all-time favorite financial books. A bit dry & statistical at times, but the first book that really helped it all “sink in” for me. Also gets you to really THINK about who the wealthy are, and what they’re about. The average millionaire isn’t all into bling and glory – quite the opposite…If you’ve got the time and patience, YOU can reach millionaire status too :) |

5. Monopoly ($10.00)
Still one of my favorite board games yet. And that was before I even cared about money! I put this on the list ‘cuz I’m afraid all the electronics and computer games are taking over the world, and our poor board games will be left in the dust :( So do your part and keep spreading it old school! |

6. Scratch Off Lottery Tickets! ($1.00)
Okay, so maybe this isn’t a financially *smart* thing to give out as a present, but it sure is sexy!!! ;) Who doesn’t like an opportunity to win money?? Or be thoroughly entertained for a hot second? I like to give out packs of 10 $1 scratchers to people as gifts (perfect for white elephant exchanges too), or at least a couple just for stocking stuffers. And if you want, you could even use this as an opportunity to teach your kids/friends about how gambling works? :) |

7. The Automatic Millionaire ($11.20) This is my 3rd favorite financial book, and one I refused to read for quite some time. Just seemed too fluffy and so “look how easy it is to do!” kinda thing. But after being bored one day and randomly coming across it, I sucked it up and was SOOOOO glad I did :) Yeah it’s kinda basic and on the lighter side, but man if you actually DID what this book advises you to do, you’ll be on track in no time at all. No joke, it’s worth a read esp if you’re just getting into this finance stuff. |

8. The Richest Man in Babylon ($9.99)
Oh baby, a classic! The thing was written in like the 1920’s and have sold MILLIONS so far – pretty crazy. Well, not crazy cuz it’s a GREAT book, but you know what I’m saying… This is another quick read and really differentiates itself by teaching financial principals through story telling. Takes place thousands of years ago way before the World Wide Web and Mr. Dave Ramsey ;) |

9. Zillions ATM Bank ($34.99)
I was sent this months ago by one of their PR people and I was SO TEMPTED to keep it for myself!! haha… The fact that it a) mounts on a wall, and b) takes and dispenses REAL money was enough to sell me on this bad boy. Due to my minimalism’ish mentality lately, however, I gave it to my nephew instead as a birthday present. Hoping to start him of right @ 4 years old ;) |

10. Iceberg Lettuce Safe!! ($99.99)
I know, I know – $99?!! Yes, hella expensive, but also funny as hell ;) And kinda useful for that matter… I add this here for all you splurgers who are looking for something different to give this year. But if it’s above your spending limit, check out the other 9 Awesomest Safes I’ve Ever Seen list I put together earlier this year… Most of them range anywhere from $5.99 up to around $34.99. Just watch out for #7. |
That’s it! 10 things I think anyone in their right mind would enjoy ;) If you’re gonna spend the money giving presents this year, why not spread the gift of financial sexiness? I think it would make Santa Claus (and Mrs. Santa Claus) very proud.

I agree, a little something for everyone. I still play Monopoly when I get together with friends, it is a great game. What I have to do is take a look at the books on this list, as I have never read any of these finance books. It would be nice to pick up a few hints about how to improve my finances.

So far read one of the books on the list, getting Ramit’s book today. But unless the people receiving these gifts are PF blogers or serious about money and saving and investing, the look of disgust on their face would be a classic kodak moment.
Adding all of the books to my wishlist (anyone feeling like a giving person, please let me know and feel free to purchase any lol jk, sort of). That ATM is awesome though! And I get my grandma scratchers every year.
Good list! You may want to ditch the savings bonds though – there’s no way they’ll keep pace with inflation. It would be a waste to park too much money into them. The lettuce safe is cool (figuratively and eventually literally). Hope the burglars don’t stop to make a salad. :o)
I love the pig. I’ll be getting this for my daughter in the future. Right now she’s only two, but as soon as she begins to grasp the concept of money, I want to instill these values. It’s not a good idea to throw pearls before swine, but keeping money in this piggy is a great idea.
