Remember my call out for doodled dollars and money motivation? Well, some of them are now starting to come in! And y’all are getting super creative up in here!
Check out the first one to kick off this project below. While it’s technically not what I had in mind when first thinking up this idea, it’s certainly much COOLER by far :) I’d freak out too if the Queen was giving me the evil eye! Haha… Hope you enjoy it. You can click the images to see them larger…
Slackerjo’s Insight About Money:
- I work around people who make WAY more $ than me. Many are broke.
- I live on 60% of my pay and bank the rest.
- I hope within a year to work 3 days a week & call myself “semi retired.”
- I am 45.
One of the best pieces of mail I’ve ever received :) Thanks so much, Slackerjo! You totally made my morning, I swear… freakin’ cracks me up. If anyone else wants to submit something just as awesome over, by all means please do! I’ll post up your nuggets of brilliance on here as well, and you too can be famous ;) Check out the original idea for more info…
Thanks guys, you’re bad ass.
PS: If you like reading stuff like this, you totally need to check out LettersOfNote.com. It’s not money-related at all, but if you’re a fan of history or curiosities, you’ll LOVE the letters they post up! They’re incredibly fascinating.

Ha! That is hilarious. I especially love the “drawings” of the Loonies. On another note, congrats to SlackerJoe for being a financial rock star! Good luck, and I hope that you can reach your goal of semi-retirement!!!
That is great. Interesting that your first dollar was a Canadian dollar but that’s actually kinda cool. I have some crisp new $1 bills I’m debating sending your way… just maybe…
Jo is very creative!
I am glad the canadian loonie got published!
Jairo.
Haha, This letter was hilarious and it’s interesting to find out Canada doesn’t have $1 and $2 bills anymore. Love Slacker Joes humor (humour in Canada). That’s what I’m talking aboot, eh.
Haha yeah – I didn’t realize there were no more $1 or $2 bills either – you learn something every day! I’m totally framing this up in my blogger office too. Makes me smile every time I see it :)
Oh man, this guy’s funny!
Hey J, send me that Canadian Tire money – i need to get myself a nut.
That is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
That’s awesome!!! I didn’t know about the $1 and $2 bills either.
@Tino – Haha, you wish! That sucker’s allllll mine! Haha… but I will be putting up YOUR Canadian bill shortly ;) It seems those are the only ones people like to shed!
Damnit, i said this “guy’s” funny… The letter was signed Joanne… Should’ve said this “girl’s” funny. Sorry Joanne. PS, if you wanna strip for me, i got a bunch of loonies in my pocket ;)
Thanks for sharing this with us. I don’t think I would be able to come up with so many funny things, even if I tried. Sorry, I’m not sharing one of my dollars with you (unless you need it for Baby $$). I’ve got a mortgage principal pay off extravaganza going on here!
This is very funny. I admit that I really laughed my heart out. This guy completed my day! I aim to live on 50% of my pay within the next 2 years.
I love insight #2! If you came by my place of employment you would think that we all were in the 1%. Sometimes I think I made a wrong turn and pulled into a BMW dealership.
I would mock Canadian money, but I love Monopoly. :-) Great letter SlackerJo! And good for you for not defacing the queen. :-)
Thanks everyone for the great comments. Sometimes I take pencil to paper and weird things happen.Perhaps I should not lick the lead in the pencil first?
The Canadian $1 coin (known as a Loonie because of the etching of a loon on the coin) just celebrated its 25th birthday. There is now an entire generation of Canadians who know nothing of $1 and $2 bills and perhaps are over tipping strippers as we still have $5 bills.
If you look up Loonie on the Wikipedia you will see this note:
“This article is about the coin. For the Canadian dollar as a currency, see Canadian dollar. For a mentally ill person, see lunatic.”
Oh Wikipedia, it’s a fine line.
Haha… please stop by every single day, okay Slackerjo? ;)
@Mrs. Frugalista – Baby $ said he needed $100 :)
Oh man. was. this. funny.
PS – feel very, very lucky that you got a $1 bill. They are very, very rare these days! Canadian Tire money, however, is rather prevalent. It’s actually going to be in a guest post I have later this week.
I must make sure not to overtip strippers due to the lack of appropriate bill. There are a lot of jokes about flicking change at strippers here… heh.
Hehe… glad you liked it ;)
